The visitor center is very impressive. It has several exhibits and lots for kids to see. The staff are the friendliest people we have encountered at a State Park. We hiked the 4.1 mile loop on the Pigeon Roost trail and the 3 mile Bashore loop on the Hidden Diversity trail. Both trails were in great condition and well marked.... More

The visitors center was fantastic, a lot to see and some inter-active attractions. Several short trials, one was paved the whole way with benches to sit and listen to nature, rest or just enjoy.

The visitor center is really neat, with lots to see. We went on a trail, and it is a beautiful area. Be careful if you look for the geocache near the entrance-- tick city!! I wish we had researched this park, or arrived early because they had a snorkeling class and several other neat activities earlier in the day.

we have taken classes on batts, butterflies, indians, owls, and did the snorkeling adventure. These are so fun the get people who are energetic and a lot of it is hands-on. Biggest bonus almost all of the classes are free

Hobbs is a very pretty park - we went to use the shooting range which is free of charge on a Wed. afternoon. There is no charge for the use of the range. We only had one other person on the line while we were there and he was very professional range safety wise so it was a nice trip.... More

Enjoyed the shop and hiking trail. Neat place to hike. Trail takes you to an old home area with information on the family business which was there.

This was a wonderful surprise. Not only is it an enormous state park where you can hike and camp, it is also a educational center. Don't miss the video before you tour the exhibits. The ladies in the gift shop were gracious and well informed. We bought some homemade jelly, and everything Huckleberry!!!

It is always nice to find a State Park so close to a big(ger) city. After being slightly disappointed at War Eagle Mill, my parents asked if I wanted to stop at Hobbs. I am happy we did. They have vast array of birds there and lots of trails to walk. The visitors' center is delightful with a helpful staff... More
