Make sure you have enough time to explore leisurely. I understand there is spectacular view of the area from the top.

When you pass The Treasure at Petra, going inside the city, you will see on our right, on the top, a temple used for sacrifices and that can be seen from all places in the city. It's worth climbing and go there -- the view from the temple is amazing and also, the main room has revealed along the time... More

We walked up via the Soldiers Monument and Lion Monument so it was a long walk with some steep parts but a great view of Petra.

It was awesome! Paid for 50 JOD as entrance fee for 1 day and worth the price! You can pay 55 JOD for 2 days entrance fee ticket. For me, 1 day is enough. As I walked all the day. I visited at 7 and back to the hotel around 4 PM. Prepare yourself to do so. Prepare your lunch... More

A steep 45 minute ascent but great views over the site at the top. Steps can be a little taxing so ensure your shoes have grip!

The High Place of Sacrifice on Jabal Madhbah is reached via a series of steps which are all that remain of a series of eight processional stairways that would have originally led to the summit. The climb is well worthwhile for the astounding views from the top of the mountains all around, which radiate multi-coloured convolutions of sandstone everywhere you... More

Probably the best view in all of Petra, the ancient river basin opens out below you giving a true reflection of the scale of the achievements of the civilizations who once dwelt in the valley. Jaw-dropping!

It is a long way to reach the High place to Sacrifice but well worth it. When you see it only word's that comes to mind are "Wow" ... "Oh My God". It really is very amazing and gives a great view to the valley. There are small shops on the way so you can rest and relax. Please don't... More

We did this climb with a high school group recently and whilst most of them did it in about 30-45mins it took me about 90mins with some decent stops. My legs were shaking about half way up the steep steps but with some breaks I managed it and the reward was worth it. The views from the top were unreal,... More
