Climbing path is poor and tedious. Fairly hard climb even for fairly fit. THere nothing at this high place of sacrifice. Just a pile of rocks. Would not recommend it

To get there it is a real climb, which will take at least 1,5 hour, but it is worth it. The most beautiful view over Petra is from this point and along the way there are many more interesting items and views to enjoy. Don't get back the same way, but take another track back to Petra, for also then... More

It's worth the hike to see not just the actual stone where sacrifices were made but also the view, a great place to stop and have lunch away from the crowds. Not for those who are afraid of heights!

We walked this trail on the way back from monastery starting in opposite direction from behind Grand Temple. Climb was very steep and definitely demands good physical condition. Interesting tombs and structures on the way up. Excellent views once you reach the top. Not as interesting on the way down towards the Facades street.

Get there by horse, at the entrance there are the horses but ask them to take you here. You will get the best picture of The Treasury ever. Deal the price very carefully, they ask crazy things like 200 JOD. I payed 100 and thats also too much for the tour!

It is a bit of a clamber to reach this spot but it's worth it. The views up there are fantastic and the sacrifice spot is fascinating - you can get imagine the animal blood running down the channel!

I have been to Petra at least a dozen times but only this year have I hiked to the high place. Though it has 608 steps and can be a bit rugged, it is doable. The view form on top is spectacular and worth all the effort.

the place is very high and you must climb a lot of steps to get there but believe me it is worth it. One of the best views of the valley and the street of the facades.

The climb was not that hard but if you want there are always mules available for the ride up. When we reached the top Ruda (who owns a little shop there) took us the back way and showed us excellent views of Petra. It was scary to climb over some rocks at the top in order to get to the... More

This is a must hike if you like exercise, beautiful views and awesome photo ops. Beware of the Bedouin shop keepers who offer a "secret path" for a large sum of money. Hire a real licensed tour guide to save yourself some hassle. The view are amazing and you must be careful. Take a lunch and water. Enjoy!!!
