This was our destination from the beginning of our visit to Petra and it was worth the effort. It is a steep climb of many hundreds of steps so bring water and make sure to rest along the way. A lot less crowded than the treasury. the whole palce is very touristy. Dont take the donkey rides... just walk and take your time, rest if you need. the 1000+ steps are worth the view in the end! More

This is even better than The Treasury - maybe it is the climb - I am quite fit - but it was very hot but I had a great smug feeeling of achievement at my age! Loved walking along the ridge to Little Petra - very few tourists make it this far (espcially the school kids!) and it is peaceful... More
