just as it is in the pictures only down side is the kids selling bracelets etc can be a bit in your face
We walked the Siq or canyon to view this spectacular sight at the end of it was truly awesome. The colour of The Treasury changes depending on what time of day you get there and where the sun is!
The treasury was just excellent, absolutely beautiful. You come out from the canyon and it opens up to the beautiful carved Treasury. You can easily tell when you are coming close due to the other tourists hugging the canyon walls to get a picture. In front of the Treasury itself there are several reenactors as Petra guards and other touts... More
This was a great trip. Make sure you get there early (opens at 6am) so you can see it without loads of people around. Also, make the long walk up to the monastery - it's well worth it (even though at the time you will be knackered by the steps!). The ticket price is very expensive, that was surprising.
Keep this simple. A must! That’s it…you must visit if you’re in the area or planning to visit the Middle East. We visited on a day trip that was planned on our own. GREAT experience. Depend on a guide - you really need it, and a drive, particularly first time. We came from Israel - so we used Tour Plan Israel, they were great - and set up a driver and guide in Jordan Time- full day minimum - and be prepared for long lines at the border! Have all your documents ready.... More
After walking through the narrow pass you come to the treasury and prepare to be amazed. Get there early would be the key requirement as by mid morning it gets busy. You cannot enter the treasury so it is really a photostop and a bucket shop tick list. There is so much more!
