This is the highlight of any visit to Petra. The moment you come to the end of The Siq (the 1.2km long crack in the ground that is the entry to Petra) and see the facade of this building, you know you are somewhere special on our planet! An absolute must see!

Even though we had seen the treasury in pictures and on the TV nothing quite prepares you for the first glimpse as you walk the last few yards of the SIQ. It says the Rose Red City ... and it really is. Rose pink is the colour of the Treasury and all the other tombs in this vast place. We... More

The Treasury was one of my last stops at Petra. Petra in a whole is great and the Treasure is icing on the cake. By the time I made it to the Treasury I was worn out.... I had a Bedouin offer me a Donkey ride to the Treasury, my first instinct was, nah, I'll walk but upon further thought... More

wonderful seeing this iconic structure. Too bad the statues were defaced during a time when the rulers did not appreciate art

We walked the Siq or canyon to view this spectacular sight at the end of it was truly awesome. The colour of The Treasury changes depending on what time of day you get there and where the sun is!

The treasury was just excellent, absolutely beautiful. You come out from the canyon and it opens up to the beautiful carved Treasury. You can easily tell when you are coming close due to the other tourists hugging the canyon walls to get a picture. In front of the Treasury itself there are several reenactors as Petra guards and other touts... More

This was a great trip. Make sure you get there early (opens at 6am) so you can see it without loads of people around. Also, make the long walk up to the monastery - it's well worth it (even though at the time you will be knackered by the steps!). The ticket price is very expensive, that was surprising.
