Yes it lives up to its reputation. You will gasp after wandering the magical siq, and you will find it fantastic. But do not miss the other parts of Petra. It will take time and a good guide book, but it is worth it.

After you walk half a mile and you start to wonder if it is real you come upon the Treasury. Just worth the wait and so worth the trip. It was the last of the 7 wonders of the world we visited and aside from the pyramids it was the best.

The famous façade that greets you at the end of the walk in, is just spectacular and worth climbing up at the upper viewpoint to look down on it. It is simply amazing to think it was carved out of the rockface around 6 - 12,000 years ago!

As I walked through the Siq at Petra and moved toward the Treasury, sculpted out of stone from the cliff side by the Nabateans in the first century before Christ, I was very excited to see one of the 8 man-made wonders of the world! As you walk toward the Treasury, at the end of the Siq, you see stones... More
