Great skiing but also very good other facilities in and around the slope such as restaurant (with very clean bathrooms)

Astonished by the progress made in Bansko the last years and all the luxurious (and also cheap) hotels and places to eat there. The ski resort is surprisingly good and costs much less than other resorts with even humbler services. All in all, a great, modern place for relaxation in this region that will not cost you a fortune. Enormous... More

We used ski kindergarten at the top of the gondola for our daughter, age 5, which was convenient as it allowed us to ski independently. All seemed well, although I was always amazed how rough the staff appeared to be with kids during their play time on the snow play park, picking them up and shoving them onto the conveyor... More

I love Bankso, been there a few times and although it is relatively small, we have always had good snow and 2600M is plenty high enough. There are cafe's and bars on the piste (which aren't cheap), the lifts are clean and seem well maintained (no break-downs that we saw). There are plenty of ski-schools for beginners, although these can... More

Bansko was a new ski destination for my partner and me, and considering the economical value of the Bulgarian resort, the piste here matches that of an expensive resort in Switzerland. As a child, my family lived in and thereafter regularly visited ski destinations in Switzerland, and after a long lapse in this great habit, I decided to gradually work... More

Very good for beginners. Many facilities at reasonable cost. Accessible directly from the city. No bus or car needed.

This is a good resort for beginners and for people that love skiing. The prices are cheap compare to other european resorts. The access its easy to reach from the town but you have to go early to avoid the huge queues (plus its a ski resort, go early to enjoy the day). The ski and snowboard classes are very... More

Nothing compared to French, Italian or Austrian resorts but for the price it's worth the money. Head into the local town of razlog for 35p pints of beer and £1 pizzas.

This really is a ski center. If you don't ski, like me...than there are alternatives. My husband snow boards and I basically took a sled ) which has a starring wheel and brakes and raced him down the mountain which is about 11 km. They also have classes for beginners, a variety of slopes, and even a little bar in... More
