we stayed in Bansko, at Kempinski hotel, for one week, at Christmas with my hasband and our three young kids (10, 8 and 6 yers old). Although there was no snow down in the village, after 20 minutes in the gondola, which is straight opposite the ski room of the hotel, we were on the upper slopes where the snow... More

Bansko has a reputation among Bulgarians as being owned by the Mafia. Based on how poorly organized everything is, and the extremely high prices for Bulgaria, I'd say they're probably right. On "Opening Day," 13 December 2014, a friend and I arrived excitedly early to the resort; having driven rally-style up the mountain, overtaking as many cars as possible --... More

Lots of slopes are nice, wide and beginner friendly. The main lift from town to the ski area is slow and the queues cab be long, up to 30-40mins. There views from the top are spectacular and there is a large off piste area. Most of the slopes are tree lined and all of the facilities are modern. There is... More

I arrved at Bansko for the first time christmas 2006. I had previously been lucky enough to ski in many resorts, but because i was on a bit of a budget i looked at a cheaper alternative. Bansko is a lovely place, and the pistes are nicely mantained and in my opinion is a brilliant place to learn to ski.... More

The slopes in Bankso are very good for advanced skiers. I have been to Pamporovo (the other big winter resort in Bulgaria) where the slopes are easier and are perfect for beginners. In Bansko there is one drawback - there is only one main cabin Ski lift to the slopes and it is very busy. The wait can be up... More

Everything is well organized for the visitors. Sometimes it gets very crowded - it looks the facilities are not enough and they have some issues with that. But it is still one of the best places for skiing.

I've enjoy my time there, but comparing it to France/Swis/Italy is small, but really great and cheaper. the bad thing i remember is that if you are not with a instructor the time for waiting to the elevator is really long.

Bansko is a great choice for an amazing ski holiday, the slopes are really good with different levels. Also there are groups that you can join according to your ski level which is very helpful to learn the slopes and socialise. The city is cheap and there are lots of good restaurants.

Nice place even if the entrance in Bulgary is a bit scary.. Very good quality of facilities and slopes with different difficulty. Prices are very good in comparison to my country Greece. Be aware of some touristic restaurants and coffee shop than can be expensive. Great value for money , i'm going again for sure.
