We visited this attraction after the caverns tour. We learned some of the history of this area during the tour and the children loved being able to explore the rocks and make their way to the waterfall. The trail to the area is stroller/wheel chair friendly making it accessible to everyone.

We didn't stay at the recreation area, just did a drive thru but it looks awesome. There is a lot to see, from the caverns to the spring, the old Mitchell Mill and Mirror Lake. And yes there is a swimming area located in the campground.

After a visit to Blanchard Springs Caverns we had to take advantage of the chance to stroll through the shaded area leading to the "Falls" and take a few shots at Mirror Lake and the Mill site. Not amazing but interesting and pretty. So as long as you're so close why not stop and check it out. Maybe a picnic?

Drove through the area but didn't stop - great scenic views throughout the drive. Mirror lake was amazing and great place to take photos.

Fishing boardwalk along the lake, walkway over the dam for access and good photo views, but there is no access to the old mill from this point. there were people below, who probably walked from other swimming sites downstream. there are stairs down to the boardwalk, and the boardwalk goes a long way downstream (i did not go all the... It is well worth the time to go after visiting the cavern. The kids really enjoyed wading in the cold water during a miserably hot day. The dam and waterfall made for beautiful pictures. It will not take much time away from the rest of your vacation, so go visit and enjoy.

Breath taking tour of the Cavern. Park Ranger provides intersting information about the cavern. Photos are allowed.

After touring the caverns, we went down to see the spring. It's a lovely, shaded area. The breeze blows down through the valley, off the COLD spring water, making even a 90+ degree day comfortable.

Don't miss Mirror Lake. Water is emerald green. Film on the caverns is interesting, too. Peaceful place to spend an afternoon. People were fishing and catching at the lake. We didn't go through the caverns but have been in the past. Amazing!
