The dam itself is very impressive and has easy access. The visitor centre is just great and has a good film show. It also a god place for kids to visit as it quite educational.

Been here most all of my life (so far) and have been in the dam numerous times. If you have seen the enter workings of a dam the tour might be a little boring. If you have not had that opportunity, a stop is well worth the time. BIG trout just where the generators discharge water. BUT, they won't let... More

The Gaston Visitors Center is a beautiful facility. Great film about the development of the dam and the area. Nice gift shop and there is an area outside with picnic tables if you wanted to have a picnic lunch. The tour of the dam is done in the summer months and is very informational. Explains how the river is controlled... More

This is the place we always take our 1st time visitors to experience. The Gaston Visitor Center (which is fairly new) is very, very nice. No admission fee, an excellent short film about how the area and dams developed, and some large aquariums holding fish that are found in the local lakes and rivers, and a nice gift shop. The... Beautiful area to just get away from everything and contemplate life, loves, etc. The corps of engineers maintains the green spaces well and no crowds!

Have been to the visitors center many times with out of town guests and all of them have been impressed with the local history that is recorded in film and exhibits in the building. The view of the dam, Bull Shoals Lake and the White river are spectacular.

Call & sign up for the 2 hr tour. They take you by van and you get to visit the insides of the dam. You're given an excellent history and assorted interesting facts by the guide as you walk and see. Not strenuous, might be warm, cool inside. Great local attraction to take out of town visitors to but worth... More

You can walk across the dam and get a beautiful view of Bull Shoals Lake on one side and the White River on the other.
