If Maryland had state parks that were as organized as this, I'd go all the time! Loved Petit Jean State park! There were markers for everything! It told you exactly which trail heads started where. The facilities were well maintained. There is so much to do and see. And all of it is awesome and beautiful. We stopped by Mather... More

This is absolutely my favorite State Park! I have been to Petit Jean Park 2 times and I have been in awe each time. This last trip we tent camped and the facilities are up to date and very well maintained. The scenery throughout the entire park is spectacular and the scene from the Lodge is one you can't see... Stayed in a three bedroom cabin that was fully furnished with complete kitchen. Extremely reasonably priced, comfortable rooms and bathrooms. The restaurant in the lodge was walking distance away, food was very good and reasonably priced. Kids loved the beautiful pool. View was amazing, looking over the bluffs. Hiking trails were right outside the lodge, staff was extremely helpful and... More

Very pretty area and a great hike. I will be back a lot! There are several hiking trails that are very rocky and somewhat difficult to get down. Make sure you are wearing good walking/hiking shoes.

Overnight Cabins We stayed in July 2014 in one of the duplex cabins. The accommodations were basic, but had everything we needed for the 2 night stay. Note: the beds are two double beds..great for kids, but a bit of squeeze for two normal size adults. The duplex cabins are more like a hotel room...no kitchen, but did have a... More

Come prepared. Do not bring a "new" vehicle and attempt the gravel roads. There is not much for food at the top so bring some if you intend on visiting for long. The waterfall is the best attraction here. It takes about 45 mins to get to it. 2nd best is the house rock cave. Cave is very cool in... More

This review is specifically about the Jean Petit Overlook. While the whole of the state park was really good, to me the overlook was excellent and provided a number of really good views and photo opportunities. The Jean Petit overlook is on "the Mountain" as the locals term it rising about 1200 feet above the Arkansas river. It is the... More

here with wife-son and daughter n law. This was our first-but not our last trip Son and his wife were camping, my wife and I had a rustic cabin. Here were our thoughts: PRO-the 99.99% of staff we met were all very friendly and very helpful excluding the first young lady at the camping check in. Place was above way... More

While researching state parks for a possible stop in Arkansas, I kept seeing positive reviews for JPSP. So, I decided to take a small detour and visit this park. I'm so glad I did. First, there is NO fee for day hiking! Being from Texas, this was a pleasant surprise. There are so many things to do in this park.... More
