Not all parks and rangers are alike - this is great!

The park and facilities are well kept and lovely. The best part of our time was our experience with the Park Interpreter Tiffany. She went out of her way with us, and all of the guests, to provide individual attention. She was very knowledgeable and remembered guests from event to event, calling them by name and discussing their interests. Of... More

A treasure irreplaceable from WPA work atop a mountain setting irreplaceable from nature. Great for all occasions - including family reunions.

We spent one night at the newly renovated Mather Lodge. So nice and quiet; excellent, helpful, and friendly staff. Because of the brutally hot temps we did not do any hiking this time; however we just enjoyed the scenery and the peace. I recommend this place for a quiet getaway. However, it is about 20 miles to the nearest town,... More

First of all, we only went here for a day trip and did not stay overnight. That being said, this place is simply incredible. Beautiful park, clean facilities, helpful staff... you name it, it's here. My wife and I showed up not knowing what we wanted to do, ended up hearing good things about the waterfall and the pond beneath... More

If you have only one place to visit in Arkansas, come here! There are many trails, but even if you don't hike, you can drive by several overlooks (Petit Jean's gravesite at Stout's Point, Palisades Overlook, etc.) and the Mather Lodge to get the full experience. If you have time, stay at the park lodge, cabins or campsites as other... More

We stayed at the Mather Lodge at Petit Jean State Park for two nights. The lodge is a 1930's era building, rustic and quaint, situated on the edge of the mountain with great overlooks. The building is not perfect - the drain in our bathtub was very slow, and while the room is clean, it is a rustic lodge in... More

We have been coming for the last 3 years. We have enjoyed our experience. It has beautiful views and enjoy the hikes. The only complaint I had was the swimming pool area seems to be letting things go. The door latch on the handicap stall in the women's restrooms was broken and had a string to hold it together which... More

I've been going to this state park for the past 10 years and I'll have to say it's definitely worth the visit. It has several trails, a nice restaurant, many overlooks, and some other nice things to see. This park is beautiful year round and the cabins are very nice. Worth the visit!

My friend and I decided to go explore Petit Jean and the waterfall located not too far from the main building. The hike was about 1.5 and moderate so we were there in no time. The waterfall was stunning and running vastly. We visited right after Arkansas had about two weeks of solid rain so we were lucky! We hiked... More

Took a day trip to Petit Jean State Park. Amazing views and the Lodge has a surprisingly good lunch. We didn't eat the buffet just ordered burgers off the menu. The waterfall was really flowing this particular day so we got a wonderful view!
