Great state park with lots of good trails

Well marked hiking trails with lots of great scenery. The drawback is the number of people that visit the park - hard to "get away" when there are so many people.

Way more than we expected! The camping was great, and the lodge food delicious and very reasonably priced. Just do it.

History, views from above the Arkansas River, waterfall, short and 4 mile hikes, Mather Lodge (absolutely charmingly rustic, very reasonably priced, and in great shape with great food served and great staff all over the place). We're from Pennsylvania, a state of much streaming waters and woods, but this place still was able to really impress us. We will definitely... More

If you love hiking and natural beauty, this is the place for you. There are many different trails of varying length and difficulty, from the relatively easy Bear Cave and Rock House Cave trails, to the strenuous Cedar Falls trail. I highly recommend the latter. Be sure to take plenty of water, wear good shoes, and a walking stick comes... More

We were looking for a day trip from Conway, AR to hike for a few hours and explore. Petit Jean park is a great trip. Check in at the lodge with park rangers for maps and suggestions. We hiked the seven burrows trail - about 5 miles and took us 2.5 hours. A good workout and very pretty trail. Stop... More

We stayed near the lake which was great. The camp site was one of the best in the area. The park is well maintained and neat. We had a great time cooking burgers and spending time with family that had came up to visit. We have reserved this camp site for this year and planing on a great time again.

My husband and I were last on Petit Jean mountain on our honeymoon 45 years ago! We decided to return and reserved a duplex cabin with a fireplace. It was the most economical, but it was cramped for even just the two of us. It was snowing when we arrived, and snowed for two days. It was beautiful! We were... More

I have been to Petit Jean many times as a child growing up and recently ate at Mather Lodge. Petit Jean is beautiful anytime of year and if you like to hike it has many trails with spectacular views. Many camping sites with a laid back atmosphere. It has a swimming pool and tennis courts all within walking distance.

My husband and I took our grandchildren up to Petit Jean State Park for the day. It was too cold and rainy to walk the trails but we ate lunch at Mather Lodge. The food is out of this world! The prices weren't bad either considering how many people we had. Looking forward to going again!

We were just using this as a half-way place to visit our son, but were amazed at the look outs and the falls. We had a good lunch at Mather Lodge after viewing a Canyon at the Palisades. Then we went to the Gravesite and observation platform with a wondrous view of the Arkansas River Valley. After visiting a fantastic... More
