I passed though this town during a business trip. The Samila Beach (where the Golden Mermaid is located) is very beautiful and calm sea. I recommend this town for a quite visit but not for many days because it can become boring.

Beautiful statue, well worth a few photographs, I've seen it twice now and always appreciate it. best to go on a dry day, the whole town is good if sprawling, Saturday evening a great market in town, food, clothes, everything. Some great photos to be taken. Beach is lovely but not a sun bathing one !!

Local were having their picnics, lazing around and having their noon siesta under the shady tree along the beach. The place have food stalls on the... More

I went here on a university trip and stop here for a road break. Its a nice place, however its a bit crowded. Souvenir stall available in the area, with cheap price too.. If you around the area, go for it.

It would be enriching to schedule a visit to Hatyai with a follow-up visit to Songkhla town Both cities have their unique features and complement each other in their differences. Hatyai appears to me more commercialised with more shopping complexes, eateries and entertainment outlets. Songkhla boasts of natural beaches, lakes facing the Gulf of Thailand and great monuments.
