We went to Miaokou with high expectations of the seafood being a seaside town. We ordered two steamed crab and a stick of two scallops for NTD640. The crab meat was dry and powdery and scallop was tough like cardboard. Before we ordered we were assured they were live crabs freshly steamed. When we confronted the owner she shouted at... More

There are hundreds of night markets in Taiwan but few have characteristics. The Keelung temple night market differs from others in nicer foods, cheaper prices and well-organized stands. Just pick up the stands with a long line.

This is the one night market that has the widest selection of food!!!! I think that there are at least 40 stalls selling various kind of food. Go with an empty stomach and munch away!

We got here by bus 1802 from Taipei, which stops at Keelung Maritime Plaza followed by a leisurely walk to the night market. We arrived at about 5pm. Some stalls were already up and running and others were preparing for business. We had delightful mango shaved ice topped with ice cream at a dessert shop while waiting for the all... More

We have visited Kee Lung Miaokou Night Market 基隆廟口夜市 in three different occasions, somewhat disappointed. Some famous stands actually turned out to be quite ordinary in my opinion. Examples: No.16 stand 天婦羅: Tempura (fried fish paste), plain. No. 19 stand 光復肉羹: Its famed thick-pork soup was VERY ordinary and braised pork rice, sub-par. No. 27-3 stand 邢記鐤邊趖: Dien-Bian-Suo, nothing particular.... More

Another fascinating side to life in Taiwan. The night markets are the place to go to eat, so much variety and so cheap. Something for every taste.

We came to Miao Kou Food Street in the afternoon. It was not busy during the day. If you happened to drop by this food street, do try the minced pork rice from stall No 31. You will never regret. NT20 per bowl. The rice was not oily at all so you can easily eat at least 2 bowls. The... More

It is a small night market, nothing much to see, but if you enjoy taiwan food then this is the must visit place! lots of food stalls and less crowd than Shilin.

I love the KeeLung night market! There's so much yummy stuff! Like the healthy sandwich, which is actually fried and not so healthy, but oh mine it tastes so good!! There's the one bite sausage, that is super unhealthy but yummy! There's the famous shaved ice stall, it was ok in my opinion. We tried the tempura which is great,... More
