The ride to icy heights!

The Gondola ride at Gulmarg was a good experience. But both the local guide and Make My trip did not offer proper advice on taking the Phase 2 ride which is the real out of the world experience. If you were to only take phase 1, then be prepared to shell out a lot of money for the pony ride... More

I think the highlight of our Gulmarg trip was this attraction only. Foremost was the excitement of the Gondola ride, which was out of this world. Such experiences are rare in India and the long queue was so much worth it! After you get to the first phase, you get to see all those people hard selling the little ski-training... More

We'd heard so much about it and really wanted to do this. We debated if it would be a good idea to book it online or get the tickets at the counter. Finally having decided to reach Gulmarg and get the tickets there which was not too difficult. The weather decided to play a spoilsport and it started raining. Heavy... More

Book online and get a guide if possible to avoid the humongous queues. Totally mismanaged ticket counters. they should have multiple toilets and restaurants there for the people. Also, people tend to push and shove as if the snow is running away! But the top is spectacular. Its white all around and so beautiful! Also one can see the LOC... More

The beauty that unfolds once you actually make it to the top is breath taking. Snow capped mountains all around. The numerous guides waiting at the top are willing to fleece you so do exercise caution in what you would like to do with them eg skiing, biking etc. They are helpful though. Do negotiate the exact charges ahead. About... More

We visited Gulmarg on 15/04/2015 as a family. We stayed in JKTDC one BHK hut. We had booked this hut through on-line. The tariff of this hut is Rs. 4000/- per night which includes complimentary breakfast. There was plenty of snow at Gulmarg during this time. There was around 5-6 feet of snow around our hut. We had booked on-line... More

The tickets to Gondola was booked by the agent and had to wear special boots & jackets available on rent to beat the chill. We went to the 1st leg of the ride where the snowmobile was the attraction on the snow. Beware from guides who may charge you a hefty sum so please check before the rates.

We sat in the gondola after a lengthy queue and unscrupulous agents and guides pushing their way through between the people already standing with legitimate tickets. It pains to see how these youngsters ate spoiling the tourists with freebies and rides by way of pushing through the queue. Sad to see even the tourists also colluding with these agents or... More

We chose to try this ride after hearing about it from many people. And oh God they were so right. There are 2 phases of the Gondola ride. Phase 2 is a must. Don't go for only Phase 1. The journey in phase 2 will take you to a height of 14000 ft where one can find snow all around.... More
