If you want to see the very beginning era of Shanxi history, from stone age people lived in the caves-through heydays emperor dynasties this is the right place to go to learn about historical about Shanxi province and the connection and influences to the entire China civilization.. Within minutes from Taiyuan airport and speed train station.

Four floors of exhibits in purpose built building. The exhibits are split bingo sections, such as jade, pottery, archeology, history, silk art etc. Its all interesting and most have English labels so understanding is easy.

The museum facade looks like a sports stadium, iconic and nicely located facing the Fenhe river that separates the city, so after the visit, we could also enjoyed the river scenery just by the stairs outside and chilling out for a little while. The museums has 4 levels if i remember correctly and the exhibitions are very well organised and... More
