If you're living in or visiting Nanning and want to do something different and get out of the city for a day, Yang Mei is an excellent choice. The bus ride is extremely bumpy at the moment, though, so be warned! Don't try to take a taxi or tuk-tuk there, it takes more than an hour by bus and the... More

Been there last week, it was amazing to see all this ancient buildings. There is hardly any commercial activities in the town, so that's what makes this place worth to travel. People there are very kind if you talk to them, they even invited me to watch TV with them on the street. And you can notice there are so... More

I think there are two ways to get to Yangmei. We took the bus ride that didn't need to be on a boat ride. I visited Yangmei with my friend by taking a 1.5 hours drive directly into the town. It's RMB15 per person per way. The bus station is located at no.198 Hua Qiang Road. It's quite a big... More

Nanning is a new city and people are looking for their roots . During we or national holidays don't expect to be alone in this village which is @30kms from Nanning. Take in account that you will spend a whole day there as it is a 2hours trip to go to Yangmei. Narrow roads , low speed , and a... More

I took my dad from the states out to Yang Mei, an adventure for both of us, when he visited. We hired a taxi and saw more of the real Chinese countryside than we had expected. Lots of twisty roads, farms, water buffalo, and banana farms. We even rode a ferry in our taxi across a river. The town itself... More

I went with my dad who was visiting from the US. We took a taxi to Yang Mei and I have to say the drive there was possibly better than the time there. It is a real live village where locals try to sell their stuff and pull you around in a cow cart. There are ancient houses you can... More
