Even if you don't know much about fossils this is a very good place to learn a lot and to see the beautiful items they have.

A country that has always evoked pictures of mysteries and beauty - and it far exceeded my expectations! I had the privilege to go with my sister on a Cosmos tour to Morocco - what an experience!. We started at Casablanca, onto Rabat, Meknes and Fez - doing sightseeing in the Royal palace, Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of Oudays... More

We three women had a delightful visit at Macro Fossils Kasbah. It was very interesting to learn how the slabs of stone were cut, and "carved" to enhance the aspects of the fossils. Large table tops, sink tops, and statues were sliced and polished and enhanced. Remnants from the process were not wasted. They became plates, soap dishes, small bowls... More

I visited this Fossils in September and also in December. There is large area for all selling stuff. Perfect location just outside Erfoud, near hotel Belere or Salam. There are many interesting and nice products from fossils : tables, decoration products,fountains,sinks.. Many tourist visited this area during my stay. You can also visit area, where fossils are produced - local factory.

We purchased a fossil table since this shop was highly recommended by our guide. He showed us a book of reviews where he demonstrated and promised that if the table was received damaged that it would be replaced at no additional charge. They were very slow with replying to our requests. Finally when i threatened to report to VISA, they... More

Saw workers actually dealing with the stone. They can make anything for you. The ammonites are all polished, and they look great. When you saw the tools they were using, it was amazing what they produced. Tools were made up of whatever they could find, one man had a nail on the end of a piston he was using as... More

Ammar Bouaich is the owner. The fossils are beautiful and the salesman an expert. I bought £800 worth of goods and was promised delivery in 6 weeks with a new base being made and photos sent for me to OK it. Firstly they tried to palm me off with the base I had refused saying all was already en route... More

We loved the sinks in the Riad where we spent the night and Rough Tours (Youssef) made sure we got a good look at where they were made. We got to visit the actual manufacturing area where they were cutting and polishing the stone (with out any safety gear of course). Inside was a treasure chest of different bath fixtures,... More

Why visit another shop? Well this one is packed with 300 million year old fossil remains of what was once the Sahara sea. The Sahara is now mined exclusively for these fossils to sell to the tourist trade. You can buy a piece of unique jewellery, a plate or a fossil ornament. This is a very different shop and prices... This was a kasbah that was being restored to supposedly attract young people back to their place of origin. There was not a lot to see and we had to drive out of our way to see it at the end of a long day. Don't think I would recomend making the effort.
