This is the small lake next to lake Naivasha, if is not known as the bigger one and not many people go to see it, but is much more peaceful and lots of animals around it.

One place you'd be sure to find a few Flamingoes on a boat ride after they migrated from the flooded Lake Nakuru.

We took a 1-hour boat ride from the dock on the west side of the lake for 5000 Ksh. (that was enough to have a whole boat to ourselves). We got up close with dozens of hippos, including one that charged the boat briefly to scare us off (nobody got hurt!) Lots of flamingos, storks, zebras, and giraffes too.

Stayed with a large family group in a self - catering house / cottage on the lake shores. Grogeous early morning sunrises. Hippos come into the grounds to feed at night. Hundreds of pelicans and many other birds. African fish eagles spotted in the distance. Other bird sigfhtings included many yellow billed storks, hammerkop, pied kingfisher, spoonbil and a few... It is a small lake many Naivasha visitors may overlook but its is worth a visit especially if overnighting in nearby properties. Has hippos and can do fishing.

Hippos all day few meters away at the lake......mornings are awesome. Food menu needs upgrading. The evenings are rather cold but the day is always warm and hot and very good for a boat ride.

No flamingos this time of year apparently, bit sad as we had ridden 14kms on bikes to see them. There wasn't much to see here this time of year.

Enjoyed a walk around the lake. Full,of Hippos. Also plenty of wildlife grazing around the lake. Any visit to Naivasha deserves a walk around this lake

The view is amazing, facilities good, look out for the mosquitoes. Utensiles, ingredients and meat can be hired at the venue and is reasonably priced.
