Best whale encounter ever, EVER

My husband and I had our first whale swim encounter back in 2011. It was so incredible I found myself crying when I climbed back into the boat. I didn't even know it. The experience is so profound, and the memories make me smile to this day. Of course, it was so damn good we have returned every year since,... More

I have had the most wonderful time that I have been back several times over several years. Everyone I have been in contact with are friendly, genuine and helpful beyond belief. It is an amazing experience to swim with these beautiful beings and I have had many unforgetable encounters with the humpback whales here in Tonga. I have only positive... More

Hello, these are serious pre-trip problems I had with Rae Gill and I want everyone to be aware of my situation ! step 1: In may 2014, I booked my two tours with her and the prices were 5075 AUD (tour 1) and 5315 AUD (tour 2) respectively...At that precise moment, I paid my total deposit of 3000 AUD (1500... The dynamics in small group tours can make or break a trip and a sense of happy shared adventure and harmony is a priority for the WhaleSwim Adventures team. We are proud of our 15 year record of so many wonderful whale experiences and happy guests. Ongoing communication difficulties and concerns about these valuable tour dynamics led us to making... The best wildlife encounter we have experienced. The whole experience was exhilarating! Watching the mother and calf 20m below was touching and when the calves were at the surface, inquisitive and seemingly 'dancing', was quite magical. Rae [owner] and Jen [guide] are very professional, but they are also fun and they feel like personal friends now. The captain, Noa, and... More

I have been very lucky to have had some cool wildlife encounters in my time but this HANDS DOWN is the best thing I have ever done. I did an 11 day photography trip with WhaleSwim Adventures and cannot recommend them highly enough. The accommodation was fab - we were incredibly well looked after by Theresa at Talau House and... I got back yesterday from a 9 day trip staying at the Tongan Beach Resort. It was a magical holiday. It's been a really good season for whales so we were lucky and privileged enough to have many awesome encounters. There are no words to describe the feeling of being eyeball to eyeball with a whale. Rae is passionate about... More

Had the most amazing experience on the Photography WhaleSwim adventure tour in August 2014. Spent 7 days on the water swimming with Humpback Whales. Our skipper Ali was fantastic! Would recommend this company to anyone travelling to Vava'u.

I travelled to Tonga in July 2014 and had the most wonderful time with the whales. The accommodation was a good standard, the boat spacious and our marine biologist, Jen, wonderfully enthusiastic. The trip did have a few bumps in organisation due to some boat challenges but the whole group had a wonderful time overall. The whales we saw really... More

We travelled in July to swim with the whales. It took 50 hours to reach Tonga from Scotland! It was worth the time and it was worth the cost. We were privileged to have amazing, daily experiences with the whales lead by our wonderful guides, Matt and Amy. We could not recommend this experience highly enough. Thank you Whaleswim

It is extremely tempting to keep this experience a secret, known only to a lucky few, but that would be very selfish of me. It goes without saying that having the privilege of taking a peek into the lives of the beautiful whales is a mindblowing thing to do. What does need saying is that none of this would have... More
