Went with a couple different outfits, and Whales in the Wild gets the gold star. Owner Phil and staff were really invested in making our experience great - they really take it to heart - and his Tongan guides were tops - amazing at spotting whales and understanding their behaviors to maximize your chance of a great encounter. In the... More

I went out 3 days in a row with the Whales in the Wild crew. I found them to be a professional group. Always on time with the boat pick-up in the morning as well as organising rides to and from the airport and to a local Sunday Feast. On all three days on the boat we would be split... More

Tardy in writing this but wanted to review our 3 days with Phil who owns Whales in the Wild. Out of the 3 companies we went with in Tonga, this one is definately the best. Phil is a really nice man and does his absolute best to give you the most memorable experience, and his Tongan guide Sione is unbelievably... More

Phil and Langi took us out for a day swimming with whales. Needless to say the whale swimming experience was amazing, something I could not put into words. We were very conscious that we wanted to choose a company that respected the whales in their environment and to swim on their terms. Phil and Langi were respectful of this at... More

We did 1 whale swim with Sione and had a great time. If Water and towels were supplied it would make this experience `Excellent`. The lunch was wonderful and compared to the 4 dives and 1 whale swim we did with Dolphin Pacific, I would use Whlaes in the Wild without hesitation next time. Thank you for a great experience.

After spending a week at Vava'u I couldn't recommend Whales in the Wild enough. If you are after a truly unique experience with an incredible tour company then Whales in the Wild is for you. Phil the owner of the tour company is a very layback and knowledgeable man. During my time with Whales in the Wild I saw Phil... More

We had 4 days with Phil Smith and guide Sione. It was fantastic, we saw individual whales, mothers and calves, plus a mother and calf with an escort, it was an unbelievable experience. We were also taken to beautiful water caves and coral reefs The masks, fins and wetsuits were all new and of great quality, a great lunch and... More

We spent 3 days in the boat. Swam with a calf and mother the first day, a singer the second and with 3 males and 1 female in a heat run the third. Phil and Siony are very experienced and spent a lot of time making sure you got the absolute most out of your day. Apart from the whales... More

We had 2 days out on the boats and I'm very glad we did as on the first day we didn't get the opportunity to swim with any whales though we did get quite close to a mother and calf. On the second day we got to swim with 2 males and it was amazing, one of the most surreal... More

This was the most amazing day! Phil and Henry, our Whale Experts, were incredible. Henry didn't take his eyes off the ocean all day, scouring for a whale. We thought jumping into the water to watch 2 lots of travelling whales go past us was incredible, and seeing an escort breach twice right in front of us, but then Henry... More
