This place is really special and one of the most special places I have seen in the world. The energy is mysterious and local people told me it is calling people from all around the world to come here. As you approach the area you can feel a change of atmosphere. The table mountains look like ancient landing platforms for... More

I visited Venezuela touring around by myself in Venezuela, visiting town of Coro and the Medanos dunes National Park on the Caribbean coast in Falcon state in the far NW, Caracas and backpacked in the Avila Massif as far as Pico de Naiguata at over 9000', Merida in the western part with the 3 station French built cablecar up to... We spent a little over a week in the Gran Sabama, a wilderness area in Venezuela. The landscapes are stunning, and all of the locals are really really friendly and thrilled that tourists are still coming to visit. There are a number of nice waterfalls to see (not as big as Angel Falls, but well worth seeing anyway). We traveled... More

5 days with a professional guide was just right. Went to really lovely places. A very special Venezuelan experience though can be rough occasionally as infrastructure for tourists are really basic but that is part of the beauty and the secret of keeping crowds away. One advice: always use insect repellent and keep it at hand as mosquitos ( puri... More

there is nothing to dislike, you take everything as given as it happens and with the understanding that you are not home shopping at Walmart....the grandness of the land, the amount of rivers and waterfalls makes you wonder, how can this be?...the food is good and the accommodations in most places are comfortable and even picturesque....I loved it....the monastery, the... There really are few places in the world that compare with this in terms of diversity, beauty and magnitude. Most people come to see the tepuis and Angel Falls and it seems almost cruel that there are so many other water falls over 100 metres in height which would be much valued in other parts of the world but here... We booked a 3 day, 2 night package with Backpacker tours, transport by Jeep. Everything was fantastic- great guide (English/Spanish/German speaking), good food, and a customized tour thanks to Eric (owner). The area is beautiful, with rolling plains, waterfalls (cold but not too cold to swim), and lovely people. I would love to go back and do the Roraima trek... More

to take a nice break and rest, come to visit gran sabana. I recently visited it with my husband after at least 15 years. Now you have more places where to sleep and visit, people are friendly, you can amaze about food in some small restaurants without any name. But you can see nice birds and ant eatter. You can...
