The main reason to find oneself in this dusty town is to go hiking. It's a magical place, partly because of the people one can meet in town who came for the same purpose. Trails are extremely clean with no trash whatsoever found. Fresh water sources abound and you don't have to bring much drinking water with you as you can simply refill them at the little streams scattered throughout the trails (better ask the local / tour guides to see which ones are safer to drink, we had a tour guide with us)....

Went with a hiking tour group and did two hikes, one in the arid and grassy hills on the Mirador de los Condores Trail and another in the Fitz Roy Valley in the lenga forest and to Lake Capri. Spectacular doesn't begin to describe the views and scenery. Mt Fitz Roy is the constant companion in good weather and it...
