Always worth the visit

Always enjoy looking around this place as the exhibits doting on a regular basis. It really brings to life what a home would look like from the late to early 20th century.

We have visited this house many times. Once I took my dad who lives there and had never been. He loved it. Just beautiful. Overlooking Lake Pisiquid!

(one of my tour guides had met Mrs Shand, when she was a girl--it added to the enjoyment of the stories she shared with us) I find it interesting to see conveniences, that were 'new'... More

We were told the house fell into disrepair and was shut down. We only learned this after driving all the way from Truro. Their voicemail says open daily except Tuesday and Wednesday. Sad.

My only complaint about my visit to Windsor is that this museum, which is widely advertised and recommended was not open during the early afternoon of a mid-September Saturday, when one would have expected it to be open.

My husband and I decided this year to keep our tourist dollars in NS,so we made a trip to the valley. Our first stop was Windsor and the Shand House. The tour guide was a big plus because if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have enjoyed it near as much. It was nice to see that everything was original... More
