Diverse planting set in a fab landscape, with great views of the countryside. The walled gardens and secret garden are definitely worth a visit.

Liked the open space, colourful flowers and excellent cafe. Setting is very pleasant and so many options for long or shorter walks in the Gardens.

Visited the gardens in May when everything just starting to grow. Will definitely return to see it at a later time in the year when everything in bloom. The gardens are extensive, extremely varied and well set out. It was a very relaxing visit. The quantity and variety is impressive. Disappointed not to be able to visit the house but... More

We visited Threave Gardens for the third time this April and were not disappointed - although we were a little early for some of the rhododendrons and azaleas. The gardens are very well cared for and we found out that it is a training garden so lots of work in progress and we talked to some of the trainees who... More

We were very fortunate that on arrival, we were able to get a free tour of the house. The house has impressive views as it is south facing. The National Trust for Scotland acquired the house & estate from the Gordon family in 1957. The 3000 acre estate was bought by William Gordon who built the house as a summer... More

A bit disappointed in the entry cost for the gardens. £7.50 is quite expensive especially as it was after 2.00pm and they closed at 5.00pm.

The gardens are well worth a visit. We believe that our early Spring visit might even be bettered as we move closer to Summer when even more colour will be in evidence. Lovely Tea Room / Restaurant and Visitor Centre.

We are NT members so were able to visit Threave Gardens for free. We collect passport stamps are were delighted that we were able to get our passport stamped here although the stamp was rather elderly and they weren't going to replace it.
