Beautiful gardens and a lovely place to relax and enjoy the well kept estate. The various features are well worth visiting and a final stop in the cafe for coffee and cake with a wonderful view over the gardens.

I first visited Threave Gardens a few years ago, it was an absolute wonderful experience. We arrived there at around 4am & we were all met by a couple of guides who told us what we were about to see & hear. Its impossible to explain how lovely it was to hear the first bird songs & see the sun... More

This is an absolutely stunning place to visit. They have a gift shop which is very reasonably priced and a cafe which is very clean and the food is lovely and fresh. There are various different parts to the garden including water features an old museum section with birds and bats and a gorgeous section which has loads of beautiful... More

I often go to have lunch with my mother at the Threave Gardens cafe which always seems to have good quality, reasonably priced food on offer. When the weather is good, sitting out on the patio with the magnificent view is a real treat. Sometimes there are also free displays in the entrance area which can be interesting. The loos... More

Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh are bigger and free to explore. There is a lack of signs/information on walks etc.

We went to Threave Gardens to visit the house within the grounds which turned into an interesting talk about the construction of the house and the background into the Gordon family who had it built as well as a meander around the property which is now owned by the NTS this was a nice way to spend a hour or... Visited on Sunday, so good I took out full membership of NTS. Nice snack before gardens, Tasty soup, nice earl gray tea. Gardens are a delight, colours, layout, sense of peace, could sit up at the Mushroom on the crest of hill above house and watch the afternoon pass by.

The garden is superb with many different sections and you can take a interesting guided tour of the house free of charge. The visitor centre is well designed and the food is good. Threave is one of the best NT/NTS place we have visited.
