Purely for the historical nature of this tower did we visit- driving through the working farm was great as it brought the past into the present- that a working farm from over 200 years ago is still being used today! My husband and I visited this tower as part of a recent trip to the Borders. For us it was one of the highlights - quite remote and windswept. It felt so traditional and Scottish! This tower, once a home for an extended family, was one of the most atmospheric places we visited in the Borders region. Admission is on the combined Borders Abbeys ticket or can be purchased separately. The setting, the views, the construction were all thrilling. Well worth a visit. Go out on the roof terrace!
