Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Obviously not as big as Fountain's Abbey but well worth seeing. I enjoyed it and thought the history surrounding it was very interesting. You can also go to the very top should... read more

I was in Middleham for an event with the Richard III Society and needed somewhere to go on the Sunday morning before we all met. I went to the castle and was pleasantly surprised to find King Richard III and Queen Anne in residence, ( costumed actors) er sat around in the hot sunshine and listened to the King tell... More

You can park outside the castle for free and it's a lovely castle to walk around. A small giff shop is on site with refreshments . To get the full picture of all these castles is to buy the guide book.

Although ruins, this is the childhood home of Richard III when he was the ward of the Earl of Warwick ( the Kingmaker). Beautiful views of the surrounding area and position of the original Motte and Bailey castle. Kids can let their imagination run wild pretending they're the Lord, Lady or soldier defending the realm (or a fictitious dragon). You're... More

A great castle to visit, so full of history and it's massive! So lots to look around and you can go right to the top as well, always a bonus! Me and my friend had loads of fun walking around and climbing bits.

We went to Middleham Castle whilst staying in Yorkshire with the intention of being there less than an hour. It was so interesting that we were there for over two hours; there is an awful lot of history tied into the castle and the families who have owned it and lived there. Much of it is now ruins of course... More

We enjoyed a quick visit here to kill time before going to the Forbidden Corner. As castles go it was quite interesting. Enough to see to be able to imagine how it once looked in its prime. More information boards would have been nice but I guess they want to sell more of their expensive guides.

Excellent castle to explore. Very knowledgable lady in the entrance shop who can tell you the history. Our grandchildren aged 6 and 4 didn't want to leave.
