A lot to see

It is only a small museum as museums go, but has a wide, and diverse range of items to see. Well laid out.

But I feel most people would find something to interest them. The Castle ruin is 20 feet away , seen in 2 minutes. The museum is worth a... More

A nice museum not anywhere near the sort of thing you'd see in London etc but worth a visit We spent the day in this charming little ton and the museum was one of the things we did on the day. Would recommend

The museum isn't vast, and it can be walked round in an hour. However if you spend time in each section there is much more than meets the eye. The collection is a real tour of the world, but the geology and Egyptian sections are my favourites. There are exhibitions which keep the content fresh. Look for the Anglo Saxon... More

Finally managed to visit this small but amazing museum situated beside the ruined castle in the town. Very interesting with great friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.

This museum go the extra mile to make your visit memorable. The activities they put on for children are brilliant and always a big hit with my children. Staff are friendly and helpful. Very child friendly.

For a small town museum, I thought this was great. Lots of interactive displays, lots of interesting features and some impressive stick insects. Very friendly staff as well which makes all the difference. Lovely

A wander through history with some very strange items - I particularly liked the collection provided by a local gentleman which included Egyptian items and stuffed animals.

Totally relevant to this small town. Artefacts tracing the history of this town from pre-history very interesting.
