Tucked away behind the Eight Bells pub is a secret garden. This is a quiet little haven and well worth a visit. It is beautifully maintained and a great place for a quiet picnic. Walk through the garden away from the pub and you will soon find yourself at Saffron Walden Cricket Club, if you are lucky and they are... More

Ideally sited, plenty of parking available to visitors. Tranquil setting and air of calmness as you walk along with plenty to occupy the eye. Much more to see, and other attractions nearby,

This was an unexpected delight, we walked off the road down a small discreet path and through a red tunnel we popped out into glorious deserted gardens with beautiful trees and flowers, poppies, roses and more ; there's one garden with wild flowers, another with a decorative effect resembling a maze which also housed a watch tower for a better... I had no idea that these gardens existed! A real pleasure to visit. Much larger than I was expecting.

At walking distance from the city centre. The touristic departement of the city has a small lay-out with a tour with all most important things to visit, including the bridge end garden. You can enter the garden through a small path (which also give entrance to the art gallery). The garden has a lovely box garden, a walled vegetable and... More

A lovely garden well worth a visit, very pretty in spring and no doubt even better in the summer and autumn. The maze had us beat at first but we returned to give it a second try and managed it, with a little help! The only down side to our visit was the state of the toilet pan, it was... More

Bridge end gardens are a stunning representation of a traditional landscaped garden. With orchards and lawns as well as tranquility this is a magical escape from modern life. Additionally there is a maze at the end of the main garden. All free, although donations welcome. There is also an art gallery documenting a lot of local life.

The gardens here are beautiful, and the hedge maze is very fun! Although it's certainly very nice to have a walk through the gardens if you're nearby, I wouldn't say that it's worth travelling to Saffron Walden especially for them.
