We were in the area, so the family decided to visit bridge end gardens, we found trying to find them a nightmare but eventually we asked someone who kindly gave us directions, the gardens themselves were quite small & were pretty basic in their design so we decided to go to the main park as there was a maze!! Well... More

Having visited the Fry Gallery (which you pass on the way to these lovely gardens), this was a "must" next stop. The gardens were larger and more varied than we expected. The only disappointment was that the maze was closed (don't know why). Not worth travelling especially to SW to pay a visit, but well worth it if you are... More

A well maintained and interesting garden worth visiting. It's a bit out of the way but worth the walk

Found this whilst strolling about - didn't expect such a large and well maintained garden in a small town like this. Very refreshing - full marks to the local council for restoring and maintaining such an asset.

This gentleman really made our visit. He is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic on his subject and it was a pleasure chatting to him. The gardens are well worth a visit and kept beautifully. A peaceful area definitely of outstanding beauty. Certainly an asset to Saffron Walden and one to visit. Toilets are clean too! Well done to all concerned.

We always used to call this The Secret Garden for our children and it still manages to contain the same gentle magic with a little mystery. Just sit and enjoy.

I love Bridge End Gardens but am frustrated by the locked maze. My children have been disappointed twice now. I will go to the tourist information to see when it'll be open.

Our Saturday afternoon visit was pleasant - this is an elegant, peaceful garden, and we enjoyed the maze, though what is the point of having a walled garden locked up at this time, when it is supposed to be open? Come on, it isn't rocket science to let people in, is it? I would imagine that early summer is a... More

This was a quick visit as we were following Saffron Walden's town trail & running out of time. Yes it is tuck out the way but worth it, if your not sure if your going in the right direction look for signs for 'The Fry Art Gallery' as this was signed of Castle Street & you walk pass the gallery,... Keep your eyes peeled for the blink-you'll-miss-it entrance on a road off the high street. You'll walk down a small alleyway between houses and think to yourself "is this really the venue that is the top thing to see in Saffron Walden?" But keep going and you'll find a small plot of land, very hidden away, but very beautiful and... More
