After visiting the Halloween Train, which was great, very decorative and the staff were brilliant, the children aged 6 and below had a great time, and so expectations were even higher for the Christmas Train. But, I have come away today very dissappointed :-( The decorations and animal settings were few and far between and quite poor, as well as... More

On 11/12/14 we decided to visit the attraction after some friends recommended it. I looked on the website and it mentioned the train times eg during the week. After an hour we got there at 11am. When we arrived it looked closed. When I asked the lady said that the next train was at 1.30pm and was only open for... More

The site is out in the country and is a good day out. There are 2 miniature steam tracks. The main one is a good distance which was great. You can take your own picnic and sit on the grass or picnic tables. loads of things for the kids to play on and food can be purchased here. Good day... More

Went to see santa on the xmas train. The steam train was really good and lasts about 15 mins. Its in a great setting. The cafe however is poor, no heating and poor selection of food. No sandwiches which is very strange. The soup was lukewarm. Overall good train but poor food.

The Children loved their train ride to Santa! There were things to see in the woods all the way round and when we actually got to santa and Mrs Christmas and Rudolph they loved it! Got a wrapped gift and a sweet. Brilliant but best for younger children. We booked the last train so it would be dark. Looks lovely... More

I don't normally write reviews, but thought Audley End deserved a good Christmas review as I don't agree with the reviews on here I read before we went. My son loved the train ride through the woods with the two dark tunnels and little teddy dens dotted around. Father Christmas was very jolly and took time to speak to every... More

The train ride through the woods, with glimpses of various animals and storybook characters was enchanting for the small children. There's probably a gap from about 10 years old until adult when one can take your own children or grandchildren, although the engines are interesting for boys of all ages.

Rather pricey if you have as many offspring as I do, but the Christmas teddy bear/Santa fest has become an annual pilgrimage for the family and it is all just too charming for words. There's something very evocative about a steam train, and the enthusiasts who run this place are incredibly generous with their time and enthusiasm. I will be a... More
