Having eaten here many times before on previous holidays, my wife and I thought we would have a nice evening meal. The restaurant wasn't busy so we had no problem finding a table. The menu on the table was a single sheet of paper and meals very basic and not very appealing. We eventually settled for something from the specials... More

My mum was very ill after eating a crab sandwich in here. The only other thing she had all day was a cup of tea. The guy behind the bar was just rude and not very welcoming. We thought it looked nice from the outside, sadly thats as good as it got. Avoid.

If you want a good meal at a reasonable price this is the place for you. We didn't have long to wait for our food which was served by friendly helpful staff. Regular visitors to Lyme and this is the place we always go to.

Had one good and one ok meal here. Good for local beer and letting dogs in. Limited menu but burger with blue cheese excellent - shame chips were frozen. Pie ok - some gristle. Great location and you can get a seat with view oof the sea.

In 2011 we first visited the pub, we go to Lyme for a week every year. The food is fantastic, in 2012 we ate there 4 times in 1 week, the food is fresh and delicious. The owner is a good man and the elderly barmaid is fantastic.

Very good value well cooked pub food with a good list of specials. Quite a small regular menu but a changing specials board. Very well run pub/restaurant with helpful staff. The food was tasty and good sized without being huge. Overall very good value for money.

I've visited Lyme on many occasions summer and winter. It's the only pub I go in, the decor doesn't do it justice, it looks strange for a pub inside. The food is all homemade and great. Can't fault it.

We were so glad to come into this very old and historic pub out of the howling gale on the sea front. The welcome from behind the bar was really warm and friendly and we enjoyed pots of tea while we warmed up and chose from the extensive menu. We had the tomato and cheese bruschettas which were nicely presented... More

The Pilot Boat is on a busy corner, right on the waterfront. We received a friendly welcome and were soon served with drinks. We ordered fresh crab sandwiches which were freshly prepared and served with a salad garnish. They were absolutely delicious, so tasty and fresh. It probably gets very busy in the summer months but on a chilly Saturday... More

We had lunch on 11th October. My wife had a hot bacon sandwich and the bacon was quite fatty. The bread was like the standard supermarket type. The accompanying salad was very spartan. I had fish and chips which was about average. The barmaid was not too good at pouring drinks which frothed over onto the bar counter. So, all... More
