there's a lot of local fossils on display, and the staff are very helpful. I found a better than average ammonite embedded in some rock, and they suggested some ways of enhancing it. There's some pocket money fossils, and also some VERY expensive collectors items for sale...

Some of the reviews here, like mine, are about the fossil walks led by Paul from Jurassic Gems 9not the Old Forge). I can't find out how to review Jurassic Gems directly- they don't seem to be set up for review - so I'll add my post here. We called into Jurassic Gems (down the alley to the side of... More

Paul (from Jurassic Gems in Drakes Way) led our fossil hunting walk on Monmouth beach and he was both an enthusiastic and very knowledgable guide. Whilst it was interesting to comb the surrounding beaches it made more sense to look into the several local shops. This shop was very helpful in picking out Local fossils for Grandkids and discussing the Fossil Coast areas. Wide selection of local and fossils from other parts of the world The town itself is quaint and worth a walkabout. I... More

The Fossil Shop is great fun to look around in, but for my husband and me the greatest thing about it is Paul Crossley. Mary at the Fossil Museum helped me out long-distance in arranging a fossil hunt with Paul. It was raining like mad, but he was there waiting for us. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and kind about some... More
