This is the home of the Alice's Bear Shop story books. You can often find the Author and illustrator Rikey Austin working on her next project or meet some of the real life characters from the books. Come visit the Teddy Bears and Dolls in the Teddy Bear Hospital. If you have time they'd just love a get well soon card. We also have a large selection of Vintage and collectable bears as well as many lovely soft toys.

This shop was a lot smaller than I anticipated it to be. Also doesn't stock my favourite brand of bear; Charlie Bears - which was a bit of a disappointment although I knew this before I entered the shop. The hospital is really sweet how it is set up. It's worth going in just for the 'awwwww' factor! Was a... More

My lovely mouse, known as 'Mousey' had a problem with the stuffing in his legs- it had gone into his feet and his legs needed re-doing. I went to Alice's bear shop and teddy bear hospital, and I left him with them for 40 minutes. When I came back, his legs were just right- not too stiff, not too spongey... More

We had a lovely long chat with the staff who were very helpful about bear making and also about their up and coming rag doll kit they also have lots of reasonably priced bear making supplies also downstairs is a fossil museum as a bonus.

I delight in this shop and hospital, everytime I visit Lyme. This time I bought down a Canterbury bear, with two holes in his paw. I am delighted to say that after a brief admission, all is well. I also added another special bear to my own collection, Ting, one designed by Rickey herself. The shop is a treasure trove... More

Thank goodness for Ricky and Becky, and the mail order and walking delivery service. So long ago, I bought my beloved ted Johnathan, to be restored, after a bad restoration experience in London; when I laid eyes on my lovely bear, newly restored, that was it. No more London restorers, I would wait for my holidays in Lyme. Other bears,... More

I have not been to the shop, but I had to send one of my bears to the Teddy Bear Hospital. The service I got from over the phone was excellent,I sent my bear down on the Monday and I got her back by the Friday, and you could not tell where the damage had been on the bear. If ever I... More

I always pop in here when visiting lyme. I love looking at the antique bears rehoming section, especially rewarding when I find one similar to mine and see the prices! I also love looking in the bear hospital at the back. If you look hard you can see the "patients" individual beds, complete with notes on the end with their... More
