We visited The Garden House on a very grey, drizzly August day! It was late in the afternoon & the lady at the ticket office told our family of four & other visitors that there was no need to pay. There were closing at 4pm that day due to the weather but she said we were welcome to walk around... More

We visited this lovely garden for our first visit of the year and were not disappointed. The gardens are a delight and this time of year are full of colour. We also had lunch in the tearoom, which was delicious! A 'must' for garden enthusiasts. Great plant sales area too.

We first visited the walled garden about thirty years ago and found it a magical place. It reminded me of a colour plate from an old fairy tale book I owned. This visit we found the grounds had been developed over the intervening years and it was a joy to wander through the beautiful planting areas.

Stunning garden that was a real inspiration to me. The walled garden was so beautiful with an abundance of colourful flowers such as verbena, salvias, penstemons and phlox. You are able to buy some of the more unusual varieties of plants, seen in the garden, in the plant sales area on the way out. Tea rooms were pleasant and we... More

Lovely place to spend a day, could wonder round the gardens for hours with lots of places to sit and admire the flowers. A very relaxing time.

plant sales, card machine not working, so had to pay with cash. New system to speed up food orders didn't improve waiting time, but cream tea was good.

Loved the garden which had many unusual flowers. We joined a tour by one of the trustees. There is a lot of walking however the arboretum is wheelchair friendly. Cream tea,was not brilliant as the scones were hard, the restaurant was very busy.

We have been visiting The Garden House for more years than we care to remember! Whatever time of the year it is always delightful - from the wild garden to the walled garden it is enchanting. We normally spend two or three hours meandering along the paths and although we know it well there are always surprises! This year an added... More

If gardening is your passion, the garden House with it 10-acre-plus filled with plants themed in different areas is a must for you. Plants are for sale, and there is a pleasant tea room for a good cuppa after the walk around the garden.
