Wet to visit the scarecrow event with friends who had 3 children, we all enjoyed the event finding all of the scarecrows and looking around the gardens. ( not normally our 'cup of tea') we stopped at the tea house for drinks & ice creams. Couldn't fault the service. A good two hours entertainment and something different.

Excited by the promise of amazing scarecrows, we were disappointed to find that the majority of scarecrows were merely advertisements for local businesess. Very little time and effort had gone into their making with the odd exception. The gardens needed attention and having paid £28 for 4 adults to get in we felt this was not value for money. Furthermore... More

We were staying in the old village school in Buckland Monochoram and The Garden House was 3 minutes away. It was a wonderful outing for enthusiastic gardeners and keen photographers. Hydrangeas are synonymous with the West Country and the beautiful varieties in this lovely garden were amazing. It was the perfect place to take the 80+ member of our party... More

First and Foremost this is a garden! Having read some of the other reviews trashing the tea room I feel that these people must have forgotten that they where visiting a garden! We came to Devon/Cornwall this year for a summer holiday planning on doing the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Eden Project and stumbled upon this little gem and... More

It was a while since I had been there and I was blown away by the beauty and variety of this garden. It has evolved over the years and is just stunning. Beautiful borders in July full of interesting and unusual plants. The beauty of it is that it has something to offer throughout the times of year it is... More

There are very few gardens that have the combination of planting sense, design and plant variety to make them seem at their peak for more than a few weeks of the year. This is one of the rare of ones and is a treat from Spring until well into the autumn. A must visit if you are nearby (and the... More

Second visit to this garden - as spectacular as before. So impressed that we have purchased a season ticket, even though not local. Plenty to see at different times of the year. Well worth visiting!

I can thoroughly recommend this treasure of a tea room. The food is excellent and the service is better than one could wish for. In a world where everyone is always rushing around, it's so refreshing to just take time to relax and enjoy the setting of this lovely tea room. The staff are very attentive and polite, even when... Visited the gardens during an English monsoon, upon on retreating to the tea room we both received an excellent and warm welcome from the staff. After browsing the menu we both opted for an afternoon tea. To say it is value for money is a gross understatement the cakes are spectacular. We both ended up asking for bags to take... More
