A compelling visit for garden lovers. Covering several acres on a Dartmoor hillside this garden has a variety of different areas, 14 in all, to interest the visitor. One mans dream that was always developing has now been turned into a Trust to further develop the gardens. The Garden House is only 30 to 45 minutes from Plymouth but once... More

Fantastic gardens - and the joy is that they change with the seasons, so return visits will never be boring! Wonderful tea room and marvellous choice of cake ;-)

We enjoyed it and could see its potential but unfortunately due to the unseasonal weather it was not the best time to see it. The tea room was good too although entrance fee was a little steep.

Visited with 2 younger teens who are used to being dragged around heritage properties/gardens and usually pretty enthusiastic. The entrance fee seemed a lot for what we saw. Possibly not a great time of year to visit as things were looking pretty barren, but in my opinion this is a place for gardening enthusiasts rather than for families. It would... More

We had a lovely walk round today and even though there are hardly any flowers out yet we saw daffodils and things. It is very prettily laid out with pathways and gardens and little buildings and there is a new arboretum being made. This would make a lovely picnic area. Then we had a lovely pot of tea and divine... More

Lovely gardens, really nicely laid out. Definately recommend a visit around this time of year as all of the Acers were fantastic reds and oranges. Nice and peaceful and good value. The gardens were bigger than I expected too. The cafe was brilliant, the staff were lovely and the cream tea was one of the best we have ever had.... More

A little gem. Keep it a secret, don't pass it on. Cream Teas to die for. Weather must be good, located on hillside with some steep grades.

We stumbled across The Garden House on our last trip to Devon and so glad we did as we hadnt heard of it previously in our guide books or leaflets and so it was pure luck we found this place. Beautiful gardens and signs of lots of exciting developments to come. Slightly shocked they dont offer a discount to seniors!!... More

We were amazed at how large the estate was. It was like a magic garden that opened as you entered.Wonderful gardens. Clearly, lovingly cared for.All the staff were most helpful. We were there for nearly 5 hours as there is so much to see. There are paths all around the estate & we were free to explore as we wanted.... More
