A really lovely garden set on different levels at the edge of Dartmoor. This is the kind of place that needs another visit later in the year to see how the trees and plants come into season at different times. Beautiful views across the gardens and surrounding countryside. Nice tea shop with friendly staff although a bit pricey.

Beautiful Azaleas. A bit blowy across the windey, windy Moor today but still sheltered below to enjoy the sun by the lovely wildlife friendly large pond. The walk on the different levels is lovely and the massive lime trees tower above. We visited the tea shop and enjoyed a very nice coffee and rock buns. A little on the expensive... More

Have again visited this lovely little gem of a garden. The garden is full of twists and turns with amazing views and sights at every angle. A haven for wildlife with a pond full of wriggling tadpoles, birds singing from the treetops and a male pheasant hiding beneath a bedecked camellia. The magnolias are a sight to behold. Interesting historical... More

Such a lovely garden, nice and big and varied. Really worth a visit, I particularly like it in the latter half of the summer. Nice tea room too.

A lovely afternoon out looking for scarecrows :) followed by afternoon tea, it was very very nice! Took plenty of photos and had a lovely stroll around the gardens. We have eaten in the restaurant/cafe before their food is most excellent specially the cakes :)

A lovely garden at any time of year. Plants well labelled. Tea room with fantastic cakes and a wide range of food & drink. The only thing I disliked were animal garden ornaments in various places around the garden, looked very twee and bad taste.

These gardens were larger than I had expected You need to allow 2-3 hrs to see the total garden My favorite was the walled garden The gardens have some steep steps with no hand rails so access may be restricted to some people I agree with other reviewers that the cafe is rather expensive which is a pity but assume... Blessed with pleasant weather for this visit. We hit the Tea Room for lunch first and were impressed by the vast improvement in the service since our visit a couple of months earlier, the food was ample and well presented. The gardens again provided interest at every turn. The wild flower meadow was no longer as striking ,which was of... More
