The close encounter with Dolphins and whales in Tenerife There are 28 species of Whales and Dolphins that either reside in or pass through Canarian waters. Pilot Whales and Bottlenose Dolphins are resident to the waters off the South West coast of Tenerife and enable the whale watching industry to all but guarantee sightings. Rough Toothed dolphins used to be resident nearer La Gomera before the fast ferries arrived and were frequently seen; they have now moved further around the island. Sperm whales reside between Tenerife and Gran Canaria.

One of the best boat trips I've been on

There are good points and bad points about this trip. The bad points were: My wife myself & 2 kids all were sea sick. The trip was quite rough. Food was basic but okay. After I... read more

Too many people on the boat. The amount of kids that storm the underwater windows when the whales appear means you wont see anything underwater. The take you on a whale tour but only tell you about the hotels you can see from the boat. No info on the whales, why they are there or anything about them. The food... More

There are good points and bad points about this trip. The bad points were: My wife myself & 2 kids all were sea sick. The trip was quite rough. Food was basic but okay. After I went for a swim at the cove stop I did see some sewage floating near the boat. The good points were: Even though we... More

Don't go on if in any way sea sick or with kids under 8. Took the 4 and a half hour trip and it was great to see the Dolphins and Whales but as a person who doesn't get sea sick i still felt horrible for about 45 minutes of the trip

The boat was large and seated lots of people, there were a mixture of soft drinks as well as beer and sangria. The water is quite rough and would advise those who get sea sickness to take some tablets as many were sick and this ruined their trip. We set off from the harbour to sea and after about half... You will see dolphins and whales very close! Dolphins play with the waves of the boat jumping outside the water. The crew is very nice and will entertain you. The food is ok. The coffee too (George Clooney's coffee, what else?). Los Gigantes are impressive. Nice bath below them. All with the right times. We enjoyed it!

The royal delfin trip was fantastic. We got back to the apartment at 2 o'clock and boarded the boat at half 9. The four guide spoke every language under the sun and was really friendly! They provided drinks on board very tasty sangria, champagne and honey rum towards the end were fantastic. The Dolphins and whales were everywhere and the... More

First of all our bus picked us up at 12 but it took us two hours to get to the harbour which should have taken 15 minutes. When we finally arrived at the harbour we were the last ones there so we had to queue for 15 minutes before we got on to the boat. All the seats had been... More

Very nice trip, food and drinks included in the price of the ticket. We've seen dolphins, whales and a little turtle :). Los Gigantes are fabulous. The only thing I didn't like was the dirt in the water: like plastic bottles, plastic bags...

Went on a 4.5 hour trip which entailed an early pick-up but it was worth it. Great to see the western coast before encountering lots of dolphins. Also spotted at least one Bryde's Whale. Food was generous and good - esepcially so given that we don't eat meat but had requested a non-meat meal. Some seasickness amongst fellow travellers!
