The close encounter with Dolphins and whales in Tenerife There are 28 species of Whales and Dolphins that either reside in or pass through Canarian waters. Pilot Whales and Bottlenose Dolphins are resident to the waters off the South West coast of Tenerife and enable the whale watching industry to all but guarantee sightings. Rough Toothed dolphins used to be resident nearer La Gomera before the fast ferries arrived and were frequently seen; they have now moved further around the island. Sperm whales reside between Tenerife and Gran Canaria.

Fun!

Took 2 of my daughters. The meal was a little less than expected but it was delicious. We saw dolphins and Pilot whales and swam in Masca Bay. Great experience!

Really enjoyed this boat tour, being extremely disappointed that Loro Parque closed the whale enclosure exactly when we were going to be there (one of the main reasons we booked to go to Tenerife) we booked this as a sort of consolation. We saw both Dolphins and Whales on the three hour trip, and spent a long time close to... More

The tour was 2.5 hours and we enjoyed seeing the dolphins and whales in their natural environment. Then there was a tour of the coastline pointing out interesting highlights. The lady guide was pretty loud over the loudspeaker and had to translate in English German, French as well as native Spanish, which was annoying. Apart from that the trip was... More

If you're looking to spend a day travelling on the water, then this tour might be up your alley. If you get sea sick, however, you may want to consider something else. I generally don't have problems with motion sickness but unfortunately myself and a good number of other passengers felt really ill. The staff was helpful enough with this,... More

Seeing the dolphins and whales was fantastic what a great experience. The staff were ok but not as helpful or informative as we thought they could have been. The glass bottom was good although one of them was overpowering with the smell of diesel. Overall a good experience

My wife does not like boats - to the extent that when we used to go on the Dover - Calais ferry she would find somewhere to curl up while I looked after our daughters. So we decided that we would go on a larger boat that we hoped would be more stable and booked the RD online the previous... More

Even though my daughter got sea sick, she saw dolphins and pilot whales and was delighted, worth every penny just to see the look on her face.

We went two days ago and had a great trip. Picked up outside our hotel and taken to the port we found our seats on top and enjoyed the ride out to sea. Within no time Dolphins were in front, then whales. The lady commentated informing us of breeds eat and notified us when they spotted more. Saw so many,... More

Although the bus trip was horrible, the boat trip was very nice! Both whales and dolphins were spotted, and the food and service was excellent. I would have liked the continous flow of info from the guide on the speakers to be less, and on a lower volume.
