What fantastic people who keep the sanctuary going - and the best thing of all are the animals - the donkeys, dogs, horse, turkey, sheep - all have had a lucky break coming to this super place. It has a great website as well where you can donate, or receive a newsletter. I would fully recommend this place. more

Nerja Donkey sanctuary is a wonderful place. The staff are so dedicated. The animals have all had desperate experiences and when they come to the sanctuary they are often near to death. Go to their website and facebook and give your support. more

We went to the Donkey Sanctuary on Friday lunchtime. It was a nice little place and the staff were very friendly. We took carrotts to add to their bread. The donkey that followed us round was lovely. I managed to get bitten by the donkey that was blind in one eye but that's probably because I didn't put the bread... more

We thought it would be a fun change in pace to visit the donkey sanctuary on our vacation. The staff is friendly, the animals happy to see you, and it is a wonderful cause. The staff will give you carrots and bread to feed the animals. There are donkeys, goats, pigs, and even a huge turkey who will eat out... more

I visited as a result of my family visiting there. Very few things touch me but the animals and staff were amazing. The work they do and love that they show is incredibly rare and precious. I never thought I liked Donkeys but they were such lovely characters. Everyone is so friendly and warm. I will go back every time... more

Well I must admit I was very nervous what we would find at the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary, but what a wonderful friendly, warm and happy place. Please please do take the time to make the short walk here. But take many more carrots than we did! You can also take dogs for walks if you like that sort of thing!!... more

We visited the sanctuary and took two of the dogs for a walk. I think Honey and Sam enjoyed the trip out. We had a drink in a bar at the end of the beach and Sam dug a big hole under the table. Up to the boat yard and we had a drink there (very friendly people). It was... more

We stayed in Nerja for a week & took advantage of a short walk from our apartment to the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary. It was well worth it. We took carrots to feed the donkeys but ended up sharing them with the horse, goats & pigs as well!! There is no admission fee to the sanctuary & the volunteers working there... more

Nerja donkey sanctuary has got to be the best place to visit if you are feeling warm and lovable with a liking for donkeys, horses and the very cute goat they took in as its mother was killed in a car crash. These animals in the sanctuary have been through terrible ordeals in their life and have been punished, brutally... more
