The story of how these caves were discovered is almost as incredible as the caves themselves. Just cannot imagine how those explorers felt when they saw the sheer beauty of the formations.

Well worth a vist. To get the best out of your trip you must hire the audio presentation that you listen to as you walk around. These are probably the best caves one has seen. And perhaps depending what time of year you visit yo make be lucky enough to capture a concert held within he caves
I have visited many caves in many countries over the years and feel that unless you are a geologist then it is a case of ''seen one, seen them all'' and I am never really too excited about seeing another underground gallery but I have to admit these caves are a bit special. WARNING... Their website quotes €4 for 'Seniors' but were denied this and full price of €8.50 was demanded. The person at the counter spoke perfect English and advised that 'Seniors' referred to 'Parties', not older people.
The interior of the caves were very interesting and worth the trip....

As a geologist this was on my list from day 1. Loved every minute and even got the missus slightly interested in geology. Don't take pictures or you will get shouted at! Also you need to be able to go up and down numerous steps. The gift shop was very good too, I got some amazing samples of elements from...

After entering via steps and a narrow passageway the caves are vast and quite awe inspiring. The audio guide didn't seem to correspond exactly with what we were looking at but nevertheless wasn't overly wordy and made for an interesting trip.

Lots of very steep steps in a cave... Unguided, dark, short walk for 8 euros. Couldn't take flash photos, worth a visit but don't expect much!
