Great beach with plenty of restaurants on the beach. Just a short walk from Nerja village but there are steep stages back to Nerja village. There are sun loungers payable on the beach but they are set well back from the waters edge and are "corralled" which can feel like sardines in a can. Buy yourrself a sun mat and... More

Burriana beach is a wide clean beach about 10/15 minutes stroll from The Balcon. The hill is steep, so no good for those with walking difficulties . There are lots of beach side restaurants and at the weekends, Ayos makes their famous paella, it's always packed so get there early. There are lovely views of the mountains looking up from... More

Even on a winter weekend, there was some life in Burriana, with many of the beachside chiringuitos open and serving bbqs and other food in the sunshine. The beach was clean and, while many of the streetside bars and restaurants were taking a winter break, it was a nice place to spend a sunny few hours relaxing.

We were there out of season and it was a little sad as most places were closed. However, I'm sure that it would be lively in season as there were lots of restaurants and bars, giving a very different aspect to the area around the Balcon. Personally, I preferred the Balcon area.

One of the many beaches in Nerja - small coves with lovely sand and dotted with beach bars serving cooling drinks and lovely food - lovely just to sit and watch the world go by before heading back to the pool!!!!
