Besides five different panels the Virgin, saints, prophets and Hell, there was a carved stone ceiling (rather than stucco) by Andres Vandelvira the architect and stonemason who designed and built the basilica.

Beautiful building, worth a visit. It's by a lovely square with fantastic tapas bars. During Semana Santa it's the perfect place to watch the processions leave the church, a truly emotional experience.

This is an old church and pretty, though a bit plain. If you're in a time crunch, I wouldn't necessarily seek it out. The area around the church is nice and pedestrian friendly (though the streets are narrow) if you want to go exploring (Plaza de los toros is pretty). There was also a restaurant nearby that was decently priced... More
