I second the emotion of the previous posters comments about couldn't care less customer service. However for my two pence worth I'll give you a far worse example. Been into the one in Malaga today wanting to make enquires about trains to San Sebastian; Last week I went in a the guy basically didn't want to help at all ;... More

I love Renfe Trains but i hate dealing with their people. Ticket officers at Atocha this morning were like 1950s Public servants: slow, not even remotely aware of urgency, and happy to chat endlessly with people in front of them instead of moving the queue along. Here's a tip for free, Renfe customer service management: tell your "i couldn't care... More

Once you're actually on the train, the experience is fine--it took us where we wanted to go safely and efficiently. But here are things that Americans MUST know in advance: 1. The automated ticket machines at the stations WILL NOT accept your U.S. credit cards. European credit cards have a chip in them for added protection; American ones eventually will,... More

There seems to be a bit of criticism related to Renfe, however, I can merely say my experiences have only been excellent - Madrid to El Puerto de Santa Maria; El Puerto de Santa Maria to Seville and return; and, Madrid to Narbonne via Barcelona and Figueres Villafant. In fact, my view is that they are better than SNCF in... More

Train from Madrid to benidorm , train breaks down , they don't inform us whilst on the train about what's going on , they make us wait 2 hours before telling us anything then proceed to get another train to finish the journey to alicante but it gets there too late and we are left stranded in alicante and cannot... The train from Algeciras to Granada via Ronda is well worth while. The stage to Ronda was built in the 1880s and links some 20 villages. It passes through lovely countryside as it climbs, taking about 1 hr 50 min to Ronda. The trains are new and comfortable - the seats are automatically allocated on buying the tickets and they...
