Just an old square doesn't help having a sex shop clearly visible otherwise ok to watch life go by coffee shops and tapas nearby

We liked the colourful tiles on the seats and surrounding walls and it was the sort of place where you can sit and "people watch" as the Spanish families spend time with their children there. It has shade and sun so you can choose which you prefer.

The Plaza Alta is small but beautiful. With colourful tiling everywhere and a stunning fountain in the middle! It is very picturesque with the Church, fountain and Plaza. There are some nice Cafe's to sit and watch the world go by with a nice cold beverage or nice hot drink. I can certainly recommend El Vagon for authentic, traditional spanish... More

The plaza has a very beautiful fountain, benches and jardiniere all tiled with colourful Spanish tiles, lit at night with old wrought iron street lights. Cafe Miele is a good spot for people watching, and the Tapas bar Vacone on the opposite side of the square offer delicious tapas at very cheap prices. If you leave the plaza with Cafe... More

This plaza sadly looks a bit dated but still retains its opulent charm. Even though the square itself is surrounded by the usual touristy tat shops there is still that old world charm about it. sit down when the sun is going down and the church bell chimes and you will feel calm and at peace.

I have been chiming here since I was a child and must admit this little charm left. Unfortunately the plaza is now surrounded by closed storefronts and the usual chain stores you find in other cities that have much more. It is dirty and not well taken a deteriorating significantly since I was a child growing up in the area

Such a small typical but beautiful Spanish square! Mosaics and a fountain! Must see in Algeciras! There is a main shopping street just round the corner.

One of two locations in Algeciras worth while spending time and watching people; nice tiled benches and cafes all around.
