I took so many photos here and they were all amazing with the color on the trees. People thought I took a photo of a painting. It's really beautiful. I recommend comfy shoes or hiking boots to go for a really nice walk and explore the area.

No visit to Iceland would be complete without a visit to this site, known as Iceland's national shrine. Situated less than an hours drive from Reykjavik, and a natural rift valley, this is the site of the world's oldest Parliament, which was inaugerated in the year 974 AD. By October, the grass had turned a musky orange, and the dark basalt and granite of the mountains and cliffs around you seem to invite you in....

I have visited this place on two occasions now. Once in 2010 and again July 2011
In 2011 it was in conjuction with my journey around Icelands Ring Road, travelling with a private guide.
Having a private guide was wonderful, particularly in a place such as this. I was able to see this with an Icelander and his knowledge was...
