The most active geysir, "Strokkur", splashed every 5 minute. Really high into the air (15-25 meters). Impressing! More

Not as big as Old Faithful, but still a great visit if you are seeing the sights in Iceland. More

Good roads lead to the place, excellent food court next to it that is open till 6 pm ( winters ). There is a well equipped shop there too but pricey. If short of time, then worth the extra cost as it has everything that can possibly be bought in Iceland. Otherwise do window shopping on the way to the... More

It does what it says on the tin! Worth seeing, although better alone rather than with a coach party. Far more peaceful. More

I find it refreshing to find Iceland's policy of providing full and free access to its natural and cultural assets. People are left to explore and discover its beauty without suffering the limitations of undue restictions and prohibitive notices and officials marshalling visitors. More

This place is a must. The valley has several hot springs and is easy to access by car. There is a parking lot and a souvenir shop on location. The main attraction - the big geysir -Strokkur, I believe - erupts every 5 minutes or so and is spectacular to watch, difficult to take a picture, though. You can visit... More

It was easy to get to and you could probably do it if you weren't able to walk far... you might even be able to do it in a wheelchair. There are lots of small bubbling pools and more than one geyser there. More

Like many attractions in Iceland, entrance to this one is free. There is a large parking area near a pricey gift store and across the street is the thermal area with Strokur geyser as its key drawing card. Stay for several eruptions as they can be quite different in force. Check out a live webcam of the site at http://eldgos.mila.is/geysir/ More

My wife and I stopped by here as we were driving the golden circle. The area is well worth your time to stop and visit. The really nice thing about this particular geyser is that it goes off every 5 minutes or so, so you can really have some fun with pictures and / video. The huge bubble is makes... More
