I took the Ölfus Special tour and it was great! It was only me and the very friendly guide and we had a great time riding in a breathtaking scenery. I had a very nice horse, it did what I asked it to and didn't only follow the guide. We walked, tölted and cantered. We took short breaks every hour... More

Late review, but still relevant. Early in July 2015, we did the Ölfus Special with Sólhestar and were not disappointed! We have only a little experience riding, and it was our first time on Icelandic horses. We were picked up in Reykjavik by the owner, and enjoyed the relaxing ride out to his ranch, about 45 minutes away. If you... More

We decided on very short notice to do a riding tour for our kids. Kim was an excellent guide for them. She listened to them and accommodated their wishes. What a great experience for them. Thank you

Enthusiastic and wonderful guide (Linnea), easy to understand instructions, great going out on track and lovely tour - felt completely at ease with the horse and found a friend for life! Will definitely come back, both on vacation and when business takes me to Iceland!

Wow! What an experience to ride Sölmundur's horses. Kim was a thoughtful and experienced guide and Sturla chose the perfect fast horse (Mosa- so willing and lovely!) for our level of experience. Solhester only takes small groups which was perfect for us and allowed for quick riding. Not only was the landscape beautiful but the horses were well gated, sure... More

I had decided at pretty short notice that I wanted to do the Beach Riding Tour, since riding along the ocean is something I have always wanted to do. I got a very quick e-mail reply and even though I was the only person booking the tour that day, everything went ahead. The owner picked me up from my Reykjavik... More

This was an incredible experience! The staff was very kind, informative, patient, and accomodating. We were picked up from and dropped off at our hotel by the owner whose amiability made us comfortable right away. They provided boots and helmets and the option to borrow comfortable suits and knit headbands to keep us warm, which we gladly accepted. There were... More

Can't praise this place enough. At no point was the service less than excellent. There was great communication throughout the booking process and with answering my follow up questions before I went. I was only the person on my pick up from Reykjavik and tour but it all still went ahead anyway. We had a fantastic gallop down the beach... More

I came to solhestar for a 2 hour riding tour, and was amazed of how fun it was! I am an experienced rider and was worried about being on a slow tour with a lot of people but i got to ride in a small group with a guide. My horse was sensitive, well trained and the tolt was amazing!... More
