We had a great time on our Icelandic horses. The hosts were very nice, helpful. It was a relaxing trip. We were able to tolt on part of our ride. This was a lot of fun. We were in the saddle 2 hours. The company picked us up and brought us back to our hotel. Well worth the money.

We traveled through Iceland for 10 days last year, and our young son was very keen to ride an Icelandic horse. Note that none of us ride. On our last full day, we booked a half-day guided lesson with this company. We had a great instructor, and the horses chosen suited us. My son walked away with a wonderful memory... More

Me and my boyfriend booked a tour via their webpage (which by the way was very informative) without really knowing which place would be the best to go to when riding Icelandic horses near Reykjavik. I have ridden a lot when I was younger and my boyfriend is a beginner, which makes it a little hard to find something that... More

We did just a one hour trail ride as very beginner riders. The owners did a great job matching riders to horses. The guide checked in with us on our pace and comfort. Our group was just the guide and 5 riders, a nice small group. We loved it!!

Booked the 3.5 hour riding tour, up the mountain to the hot springs and back again. It was my first time riding a horse ever and the wind was awfully strong that morning. But it all went great. We got picked up in the morning in Reykjavík and from there it was a smooth and safe trip. The people of... More

Has the feel of a small company, with a skilled and caring staff. They picked us up from the hostel and served us sandwiches on the trail and soup upon our return. We took the hott springs tour which was an adventurous trail with beautiful scenery, our guide was skilled and the ride was completely satisfying to all in our... More

We booked the 3 Hour Riding Tour for a Saturday morning. We drove ourselves from Reykjavik to Olfus and ended up arriving early, but the staff offered us tea/coffee/cookies while we waited. Everyone was very friendly. I had zero riding experience so they picked a sweet male horse for me who was excellent at following every other horse. We were... More

We were recommended this company, but sadly it did not meet our expectations. Upon booking the tour, the representative from Solhestar was in a hurry and did not take the time to enquire about our level of riding skills, length of tour etc. He wished to end the conversation after agreeing on time and number of riders, but I pushed... We had a last minute schedule change and called Solhestar in the morning to see if they could accommodate an afternoon ride for me and my 4 year old - who was dying to ride a horse after seeing them everywhere. The Solhestar team was very accommodating - from greeting us with a handshake in the parking lot to treating... More
