The day we went for our ride it turned out to be very rainy and cold..we braved the weather and went out as a group of 8 (there were 4 adults in our group: 2 beginners and 2 of us experienced). The staff were really welcoming as soon as we got in the yard. Our guide, Kim was great. They... More

I saw this on trip advisor as we were down in the South for a few days and wanted to do horse riding. This place had good reviews so we decided to give it a go. We had 3 beginners and 1 who had ridden a few times before. We phoned the day before to make sure they had bookings... More

Wonderful folks. Our kids also had a great time (8yo and 11yo). The horses were wonderful and gentle. They had a great ride. And the owners were awesome and very kind. Highly recommend this.

I went for a two-hour horseback riding tour in early September. I have quite a bit of horse riding experience, and was specifically looking for a farm that operated small group tours that would feel more personal than touristy. Solhestar was a great choice for this. There was a family of three as well as myself on the tour. We... More

Beautiful vistas - the moss covered lava mounds are so beautiful you almost expect the elves and fairies to come out. The horses were perfect temperament for me (moderate rider) and my two daughters of 11 and 8 (moderate and beginner). Our guide was very sweet and lively. They had very friendly atmosphere with a nice old dog and a... More

I had an idea of rising the famous icelandic horse in the end of my month trip. I've chosen this company because they have pretty nice prices and pick-up from Reykjavik Campsite. I was riding for the first time and I had a great time. Enjoyed 2 hours trip, would visit once again if I will have a chance! Thanks... More

We came for a one hour ride, since we were beginners. The ride leaders were very patient and kind to the kids, and the horses were sweet as can be. (Maybe all Icelandic horses are like this. I grew up with an occasional ride on the East coast, and man, those horses are just impossible.) There were 10 of use... More
