We recently took the full day crater tour. It was the end of September and almost out of the tourist season so we had the whole landscape to ourselves! We saw no other tourists all day. It was an amazing experience to get off the highway 1 and really deep into volcanic land. There was a lot of walking and... More

We are a family of 4, all are adults. We picked the black sand beach and crater tours. The trip was really amazing. Apart from the detailed information from Mr Gudmann, we could feel his passion as a local guide telling the local stories and information. The black beach and the old light tower are stunning and worth the time,... More

We went on a quad bike trip this September, a group of 22. Guðmann and Trausti are very professional and know everything about the area, which is beautiful. I would say that this is an experience that no one should miss in the area. We stopped regularly and they told us stories about the area which made the trip even... More

My boyfriend and I booked the "Lava 2" ATV excursion and had a blast! Guðmann, our tour guide, led us on a visually stunning tour which showcased Iceland's varied landscapes. In the span of 2 hours, we saw lava fields, pseudo-craters, clear streams and lakes, and beautiful grass colored hills. Guðmann was also sure to stop at key locations to... More

My girlfriend and I booked the Crater 2 tour via the Holasport website. As per agreement Thorberg was waiting for us at the petrol station of Kirkjubaearklaustur and we boarded his super jeep. The ride with this king of the road proved a fun experience by itself. While steering the vehicle through rivers and over cart tracks our driver provided... More

We booked the "Laki Craters Mountain Expedition" (super jeep tour) and were not disappointed: Our driver and guide, Trausti, took us up to Laki while giving us a lot of information (in English) about the craters, Mount Laki, the Laki fires, volcanos and Iceland in general. After a fun, wild ride through lava and across rivers we reached the parking... More

We joined this trip after researching likely issues with a 'normal' 4x4 on the road to Laki. A couple of the rivers that one would need to cross both going in to Laki and on the return have a reputation for going high/deep quickly following rainfall and we didn't want to chance that sort of difficulty. It turned out that... More

We booked the full day super jeep trip to Laki. Having been close on a previous occasion in a 2WD car and learned a bit about the Laki fires, we were keen to visit the location. Holasport provided the ideal trip: an interesting drive in the super jeep, full information about the area and its history and, most importantly for... More

Thanks to our guide for the fantastic day we spent. Their day trip takes you up to the Laki mountain into the craters and spectacular lava fields. The guide gave us plenty of explanations related to the morphology and history of Laki. The tour ends with a beautiful short hike over a wonderful canyon.

If you have an adventure taste and like big cars this is a trip for you. We were driving around Iceland and that offer was perfect for us. Starts in the evening 18:00 o'clock trip takes 2-3 hrs. We made a late booking and it turned out we were the only 2 passengers that evening! We went for Super Jeep... More
