Lake Myvatn and the surrounding area is one of the most beautiful area of Iceland, known for the steaming lava and hotsprings, fissures and formations, flora and fauna and great hospitality. Travellers normally regret when they have to leave, wanting to stay a few more days. Our tours vary in length and difficulty, suiting people of all levels. If you are in a hurry and don´t have the time to spend the day on a tour, the short intro tours are great to get to know the nature of the area. For all our tours we recommend sturdy shoes, warm clothes, hat and gloves as the weather in Iceland is quite unpredictable. One of our motto is: "It´s never a bad weather, just people that are not dressed properly"Our mountainbikes are all GT, 24 gear high quality bikes. All participants in bike tours must wear a helmet and a safety vest. Our guides carry tools for maintenance and of course an emergency kit for first-aid.Our scheduled hiking- and biking tours are offered June, July and August according to shedule. At other times small groups can ask for tailor made tours and excursions. During the winter time we tailor make tours on cross country skis or snowshoes in the Myvatn area.Come and enjoy an all natural activity with us at Hike and Bike !We are located in the village of Reykjahlid by Lake Myvatn, at the corner of Mulavegur 1 and the Ring Road no.1. Only one km from the Tourist info and 0.5km from the swimming pool. Look for our sign ! « less

Andreas and I booked two tours with Eyrun. Nordic skiing and snowshoe hiking... It was both quite exhausting, but a great experience as well. It was wonderfull experiencing the area like this - and of course Eyrun is not only a great sports lady, but also a very funny lady with lots of knowledge about the area.

May 2014, the Myvatn Naturally Tour: Eyrun lead our group on an amazing trip on snow shoes, bikes and hikes through volcanos, lava formations, steaming craters and to the daily soak in the Nature Bath. Cultural and adventurous, each day brought something entirely new to the 6 day trip. Start to finish, daily, the trip was extraordinary. Of course I... More

Eyrun treated our group of 11 women to an experience of a lifetime. We were able to see Myvatn as I imagine the locals do, on bikes, snowshoes, and with hiking sticks. We soaked every afternoon in the Naturebaths and ate food that was as good as you would find in a fine restaraunt in a big city. The Icelandic... More

Words are inadequate to describe Iceland. Eryun's Hike and Bike was a perfect way to experience something very essential about the country. It is vast, yet accessible via the daily excursions. There is no better way to put yourself out there, in connection with place. Eryun is a competent and trustworthy guide, who brings her absolute appreciation, enjoyment of the... More

I went on the Frozen wonderland tour with Eyrun on 5th Dec 2013. I was the only one and therefore a private tour. It was such a good experience and probably the best way to explore Myvatn. Tourists may felt like they can walk around the area themselves without spending on local tour - but I can tell you that... More

My boyfriend and I did a 3-4 hour hike with Eyrun from Hike & Bike in Myvatn. She was great. Made sure the pace was good for both of us. She took an appropriate number of breather and rehydration breaks when we were doing the steep uphill parts! The hike overall was fairly easy going with just a few steep... More

My girlfriend and I visited Hike and Bike in April 2013 and were treated to a wonderful nordic skiing experience in and around the Krafla Volcano. Our host Eyrun was extremely warm, friendly, and accommodating. She helped teach us the ropes and took us to a fun spot full of steaming geysers and fascinating volcanic terrain. She was very well-informed... More

We (family of 4 - kids aged 7 and 5) booked this winter tour to Myvatn with Nonni Travel company and with their help arranged for the rental of cross-country skis, boots and poles for our whole family at Hike and Bike. Eyrun (the owner) was incredibly warm and accommodating with us, even to the point of asking her husband... More

This is a really wonderful way of discovering Myvatn and the surrounding area. I was lucky enough to take part in one of Hike and Bike's longer trips earlier this month. Titled "Land of Lava" this journey took us far off the beaten track, away from crowds dutifully completing their Icelandic circle, into the dramatic - at times lunar -... More
