There's nothing like floating around in hot milky blue water for a couple hours. We were there on a bustling evening over the Easter weekend, and it was filled with more locals than tourists (that's how you know it is good). The water is nice and hot and it is easy to find a seat on a rock. There's the...

Amazing thermal baths. Good facilities, clean and well maintained. Soap provided and towels for rent. The view is gorgeous.
The soup and salad bar serves basic food, not warm enough if you have been hiking all day but good enough to prevent you from fainting! They sell the famous icelandic rye bread slow baked in underground potholes!
One day we had...

We went there at easter and unfortunally it was rather cold only 1-2 °C . Snow in mountains and foggi and rain. But the warm nature baths smelted our hearts and was a great experiance . This is even better than Blue lagoon because the water is soft and you can choose hot - warm - or colder to swim...

I wasn´t very excited with the idea of an open pool considering the pouring rain and chilly temperatures and only tried it because of the insistance of the hotel receptionist where we stayed. Thank goodness we did...A delicious contrast between hot and cold where the rain actually felt good falling on me. Had a dip early evening and practically had...

While...

After a long drive the previous day to get there from Vik it was nice to relax in the water for an hour. The location is lovely on top of the high pateau and the water was lovely and warm. The place isn't that big so once you've had a little float there wasn't much else to do. However, it...

We loved this place better than the over-commercialised Blue Lagoon in Reykjavik. Staff were friendly, the lamb soup at the cafe was excellent (and you get free refills). We were the only people in the pool until another couple arrived. It's much smaller than Blue Lagoon, but so much better because hardly any tourists (well, at least when we went)....

What a fabulous experience! We went just before sunset and were the only ones in the pool for a while. The windchill must have been -20, but the baths are so warm you don't care! We watched the sun go down surrounded by snow-capped mountains and steam from the pools. I highly recommend it!
