The Dachau Concentration Camp truly was a great experience. We arrived around noon and picked up a couple of audio guides...I don't remember how much they were, but they were not expensive at all. You have to leave a piece of ID as collateral for the return of the guide. The rental of the audio guide is the only cost... more

This is a must see for anyone visiting Germany in the Munich area. Those who have worked on creating this memorial of done an amazing job at preserving a piece of history that strongly reminds us of one of the world's darkest times. more

We took the S-Bahn (S1) from Munich airport down to Laim, and then the S2 to Dachau. There are then clearly marked busses to the memorial garden, however, we decided to walk from the station to the camp as it was a nice day. This took around 50 minutes. The camp is free to look around, but is closed on... more

This was the first concentration camp I've visited and to be honest, I was not sure what to expect. Therefore, I had no expectations other than the subject itself. While much of the camp was destroyed by the Germans at the end of the war in an attempt, I suppose, to hide the evidence or erase the memory, what is... more

My father was a prisoner at Dachau, my husband and I visited the site and it was very moving. I would dearly love to obtain a video of the complex. We took many photos which we lost due to a fault with our camera. If anyone can help out with a video or photos please email me on jackskin@bigpond.com we... more

My wife and I visited this historic site and museum in January. It is an easy trip from Munich on the S2 S-Bahn to the Dachau station where you can catch the well marked bus to the memorial site. There is no admission charge. The site is closed on Mondays and the tours in English are not offered daily in... more

This was one of the most emotional experiences for a Kiwi girl. It was eerie but is a must see. The tours are very informative and give us an insight into man's inhumanity. Lest we forget. more

While visiting Munich we made our way on a tour of Dachau Concentration camp. This was the most eye opening experience I've ever had but recommend anyone who can/wants to visit a place of this nature. The tour was $12 Euro which also included a playback device to allow you to listen to all the different stories throughout the tour.... more

Arrived in light fog and paid about €3 for parking. Short walk to the main gates where we hired a couple of Audio guides for less that €5. The fog made it very atmospheric & seeing the troop of young German soldiers visiting the site really sent chills running down my spine & set the scene. The audio guides are... more

When I visited Munich I planned to visit the Dachau Concentration Camp outside the city of Dachau. I found it very easy to get to Dachau city, just take the S-bahn 2 towards Petershausen. When we arrived at Dachau trainstation there were a local bus going directly to the memorial site, some kilometers outside the city. When I saw the... more
