How often do you see a church with three completely different towers? This is just the impression from the outside. Coming inside, the surprises may be even bigger. And there is an explanation. The church is the oldest in Denmark, having survived and being amended over and over again. It is told that the first church on the site was... More

We spent a pleasant afternoon in Ribe and one of the highlights was the domkirke or cathedral. You can make your way all the way to the top and along the way learn about its history and see the inner workings of a beautiful old cathedral dating back to the 900's. The rest of the town centre is lovely and... More

This church has an intersting history as it moved from catholic to protestant around 1600. In a small museum , this history is outlined and you see its consequences. The church also has some modern art.So it offer is an unusual broad experience. The view from the tower is nice towards the inland and the see.

It's very pleasant to look at as it stands in the main square of Ribe. It certainly has a presence. The inside is also very nicely preserved.

Walking through the town of Ribe, we were greeted by the beautiful domkirke of Ribe standing in the center of its square. The inside is more quaint than Roskilde but just as beautiful.

Started in 1150. Beautiful history, beautiful stained glass, spectacular pipe organ. And please take the hike to the top of the tower. over 240 steps but the view is priceless.
