In 1875, Colonel Samuel West Peel built a marvelous villa tower Italiante mansion on the outskirts of Bentonville, Arkansas. It was a working farmstead surrounded by 180 acres of apple trees. The Peel Mansion is an outdoor museum of heritage roses, perennials, and native plants. Various vignette gardens are interlaced among curvilinear walks and large shade trees creating a most appropriate setting for this great historic building of Northwest Arkansas. Also on the site is the pre-Civil War Andy Lynch log cabin which serves as a gatehouse and Museum Store at the entrance to the grounds. *Tours are available every hour on the hour.* The Peel Mansion Museum & Heritage Gardens offers a variety of event options - wedding ceremony and reception, rehearsal dinners, group luncheons and tours, as well as civic or corporate events. We have the perfect venue for your special event!

When I hear there are "Heritage Gardens" I am expecting something very cool. Not so cool. It was moderately maintained. We were unable to go inside the house. Plenty of construction going on in the yard area.

I love old homes with furnishings of the period and this fits the bill. It isn't open all the time so be sure and check before you go. We arrived about 10 minutes before closing and got a "special" tour by the young lady that has the gift shop. She was very informative and was so kind to extend her... More

Was visiting family and no one had been here before so this was our chance. Nice place located on the edge of Walmart's parking lot (probably because one of the Walton boys was behind restoring this place). Not as grand as touring some of the plantations in Mississippi and Louisiana but worth a visit. I think there was more information... More

I have wanted to go to the Peel Mansion for a few years now and finally on my most recent trip out to see my folks, I was able to go with my dad. We got there just in time for the 2pm tour and we were all alone with our guide. The story of the owner and his family... More

Took the grand daughters (7 and 3) here during spring break and they both had a really great time. The tour guides are very friendly and knowledgeable of the home's history, etc. and definitely understood what was needed to relate to the little ones. Making them feel a part of the tour made it a much better experience for both... More

Thank you @Conceptumator for letting us know you and your two grand daughters had a great experience visiting The Peel Mansion Museum & Heritage Gardens during spring break. We are glad you thought the entry fee was reasonable. For (others) reference, the prices are $5.00 plus tax for adults, $2.00 plus tax for children 6-12, and under 6 are free.... More

The tour guide was great, an older woman who had originally planted some of the gardens. The gardens weren't much too speak of during our trip due to the season and all the snow we'd been having but the grounds seem well kept. This is our third attempt to take a tour, the first time, well over a year ago,... More

A lovely restored mansion with a very knowledgeable tour guide. The gardens are beautiful and they continue to make improvements to them and the surrounding buildings. Very enjoyable.

The house is about 140 years old. Nelle, the docent who showed us through, must be about 130. The house is no big deal, but Nelle was utterly charming.

One of the few restored homes around NW Arkansas. The Peel Mansion has been lovingly restored, and is a beautiful place to visit, for both the house and the grounds.
