Was expecting to see the river, wildlife, and a decent pond with fauna and wildlife. Not so much, by a long shot. They do have a nice desert garden at the entrance that puts dozens of plants on display with correct names. Would not have paid to enter, but I did. Not worth a visit.

This is a wonderful place to visit and learn more about plants and wildlife in this unique area. There are three miles of self guiding loop trails including one that is wheelchair accessible but can be somewhat difficult without assistance in the areas of deep sand. The Visitor Center has a map showing all the trails and can help you... More

I love the quiet peaceful feeling in Aguila. We are going for gold rush days. We are gonna bring our horses and bob said we can keep them on the front acreage by our rooms

We loved everything about this place. Gorgeous riparian area filled with the songs of tons of birds, lizards everywhere too! They have several short (half mile or so) loop trails you can take. One of them is stroller and wheelchair accessible even. The volunteers working were ao friendly. When we visited there were several scientists banding and weighing birds and... More

We saw highway signs, saw the grove of palm trees and thought we'd enjoy a walk and a bit of a view. We were delighted! First off, you have to truly enjoy the 'story' of the Preserve and its colourful past. It is a great insight into the 'wild west' of Arizona 1860-1960! The work of volunteers and the Conservancy... A splotch of green in the desert. Nice trails give you a nice impression of the ecosystem that exists due to the underground river with only small portions visible above-ground.

Wonderful example of a riparian ecosystem. It is an underground river that comes up for 5 miles just here. The birding was superb.

This little jewel on the Hassayampa River is a fun place to visit (when it's not too hot). There are hiking trails and a small creek that runs all year. Great place for adults and children.
