Wonderful example of a riparian ecosystem. It is an underground river that comes up for 5 miles just here. The birding was superb.
This little jewel on the Hassayampa River is a fun place to visit (when it's not too hot). There are hiking trails and a small creek that runs all year. Great place for adults and children.

There are well marked and maintained trails that lead people through a delightful walking experience. The welcoming center has an abundant... More

Loved the section with the water surrounded by trees. To get the feel of the Preserve, one needs to climb to the top and view the surrounding area.

Fantastic educational program, excellent trail, very friendly, helpful volunteers. Loved the overlook area with a map naming all the mountains we could see. Gardens around main building were nicely planted and labeled. The old palm trees around the park were way cool.
