We enjoyed strolling around Tubac going into the shops and galleries. The art was varied and excellent. There is a really nice state park in Tubac that is historical. We enjoyed everything!

I'm not really into shopping, but walked the streets and visited a few shops just to get a feel for the place. It was colorful to see all the items, but the same items were shown at different shops. Where is the real artist? That said, if you like this kind of thing, there are several restaurants and different type... More

Eclectic shops and galleries- from wonderful art at K Newby Gallery and Sculpture Garden to unique Native American crafted jewelry and unusual native pieces at Pioneer DeTubac, all is so interesting and diverse and so easy to walk around. Interesting trees, flowers(inseason), good eating places(not quickie junk food) to stop for drinks or great salads/sandwiches. We loved wandering around and... More

Great mix of shops to explore for a couple of hours any day of the week. Great photo opportunities, too. Have good walking shoes. The only negative is there is not alot of food choices; there is a deli within the colony, the fantastic italian restaurant along the frontage road and the golf resort adjacent. if you enjoy viewing and... I found this wonderful little shop where you can buy great natural products to care for your body and mind. I have tried the goat milk soap and body lotion, the lavender powder and eucalyptus cream. They all work wonders and smell fantastic! The owner is super friendly and even if I haven't tried it, she also often has Soup... More

A fun side trip from Tucson is the artsy town of Tubac. It's fun to wander the interesting galleries. I always include lunch in Tumacacori, just a couple of minutes south, at Wisdom's. It's a funky place with good Mexican food and they serve the delicious Santa Clara hot sauce from the spice factory/story south of there. Check out all... More

After reading the glowing reviews on here we made the trip from Tuscon today.I have traveled for several years but thought I would never see a place as quirky, eccentric and snobby as Jackson Hole or Vail Colorado.Don't get me wrong this type of thing goes over well with some people. I was not surprised at the men with pony tails... More

I loved visiting Tubac on our recent vacation to Tucson. I wanted a day of authentic crafts for shopping and a nice meal and found it in this wonderful town that has resurrected several times in history to live again. There is the historical excavation and museum you can enjoy or you can just walk around town and enjoy the... More

While visiting a friend in Green Valley, Arizona, located just 25 miles south of Tucson, she mentioned a trip to Tubac. An Artist Colony it is located a short 20 minute drive (from Green Valley) down I-19, south of her. We spent a most enjoyable and lesiurely day visiting the many shops located here. The history of the area was... More

My mom lives in Tucson, so we drive to Tubac every time I visit. I love it there! There are many wonderful shops and lovely scenery, but here are a few of my favorite destinations: The Country Shop is my hands-down favorite shop in Tubac. They owners are very kind and live on the premises. They have a great selection... More
