Description: The Divine Dolphin has been taking people to encounter the glorious...
The Divine Dolphin has been taking people to encounter the glorious dolphins and whales of Drake Bay, Costa Rica since 1998. We are also a research and conservation organization dedicated to creating a protected marine area here, and are the only tour operator exclusively dedicated to dolphin and whale tours. It is our specialty! Our tours feature highly experienced tour guides, our resident marine biologist and a hydrophone that allows us to hear the dolphins' and whales' sounds. We often encounter mega pods of dolphins numbering in the hundreds and even thousands and we have the longest season of Humpback Whales in the world. We celebrate the connection that people have with these amazing and highly intelligent beings and approach them with the utmost respect. We have been featured on Animal Planet, The Travel Channel, Fine Living and in numerous magazines and publications. Dive on in and meet the Divine Dolphins and Whales up close and personal while helping us to create a protected marine area. Everybody wins, especially the marine mammals we are working to protect.

We enjoyed a lovely day at sea with the Divine Dolphin. The trip is pricey, but we did see dozens of dolphins and a mama and baby humpback whale. Sierra was quite knowledgeable and obviously passionate about the critters. Her volunteers and staff were very friendly. I also appreciated that water was served from a large jug with resuable cups... More

I went on 3 tours with Sierra and her crew back in March. This was my first time in Costa Rica and I was travelling alone. The three days that I went out to see the dolphins were by far the BEST part of my trip. Sierra and her crew made me feel so welcome and they were so knowledgeable. Not... More

Sierra is a true professional with an amazing connection to dolphins and whales. We saw a super pod of dolphins and interacted with these amazing beings all day. Her commitment to ecology and her education on the dolphins improves the ocean for everyone. The Capt was very professional and the lunches were great! I could not have had a better... More

The main reason that we decided to go on this tour was to learn about Dolphins and whales and other creatures and to see them of course (we chose this specific tour because Sierra is supposedly very knowledgable and tells you everything she knows) . We arrived in the morning at the beach and were greeted by Cindy. We thought... More

I am so very sorry that you were not happy with the tour. I was sick that day and it was the first tour I have missed in over a year. I have been training Cyndie for two months and felt that she was qualified and had enough information to guide the tour and I apologize if she didn't pass... More

We had an excellent day with the spotted dolphins despite the very choppy weather following a rain storm the day before. Saw hundreds of dolphins and one of the most venomous sea snakes (yikes!). In addition to watching the dolphins, we also got a chance to jump into the Pacific to cool off and decaffeinate. Sierra's and the crews' love... More

Thank you so very much for your kind words. We were handed an unseasonable rough day that day but the dolphins came through anyway, as they always do and we were able to share with you our Mega Pod of our "Homeboys," the Pantropical Spotted Dolphins. Thank you for coming and we hope to see you again sometime! More

We were warned before the tour that the whale migration had not arrived and that we would probably not see any. We encountered so many dolphin's - common and spotted - as well as a sea turtle. The guides, Cindy and Sierra, are so passionate about the dolphins! Sierra sits on the bow of the boat to better spot anything... More

This trip was the highlight of our Costa Rica visit, by far! I have had the great pleasure to swim with dolphins before, ( Hawaii, New Zealand ) but this day with Sierra and her team was the best dolphin encounter of them all! The positive vibrant energy from everyone onboard working with Sierra to the magnificent dolphin experience.. what... More

We had a great day out on the water with Sierra and her team. Even though the weather was rough and raining we still saw so much wildlife. There were dolphins everywhere! Some were playing with the waves of the boat, some were fishing, and others just chilling out. We also saw rays, flying fish, and a huge humpback whale... More

We recently spent about a week in Drake Bay. Even before we arrived, I knew I wanted to take this tour with Sierra. Although the day we went out, the seas were rough and it was raining -- we still managed to see so much 'ocean' wildlife including several types of dolphins, flying fish, rays and .... a humpback whale... Thank you so much for the great review and for coming out to play with us! It was awesome when the Humpback Whale popped up out of nowhere and the dolphins escorting it was great too. We sure hope you will come back out with us when you return to Costa Rica. Many blessings. More
