We booked a guided walk at Hacienda Baru and had a fantastic time. Our guide - Rigo - was excellent and we saw a large number of birds and animals, including a three-toed sloth and baby. The reserve is easy to find being directly off the main highway and the guided walk represents excellent value for money.

We saw sloths, which was a great highlight of the trip. Many of the sloths had babies. We went with a great and knowledgeable guide who is amazing at spotting the animals, and brought a spotting scope so we could see them better. They have beautiful trails at this park and the wildlife is superb.

We booked a bird walk tour in the morning. The tour was a good value and our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. After visiting, we wished that we had decided to stay on the property. Next time!

This was very interesting and we learned quite a bit. We say capuchin monkeys twice, several sloths, lots of birds, and a very large, friendly cockroach. The zip lining was nice--2 of us are afraid of heights. The guide was very knowledgable. We learned a lot about the area, the eco system, the animals, etc. There was time when we... More

Good tour for all ages, not the longest lines but we had kids 11,9, and 6. Tour guide spotted monkeys, a green poison tree frog, and sloths on our tour.

Flight of the Toucan! This course of 8 lines is good for all ages, and for a beginner zip lining experience. I tried it backwards too, and it was awesome. The climb to the top of the hill was not bad at all, but make sure to keep your pace. Bring a face towel for the climb through the forest.... More

Hacienda Baru is a great facility with great people. We did the zipline tour and it was our first time zip lining, couldn't ask for a better experience. The guides were informative and we saw a bunch of nice wildlife. Monkeys, slothes, beautiful birds the guides spotted anything and everything. Highly recommend taking any tour with them!

Hacienda Baru is so wonderful in terms of beauty, experience, what they are doing, and just plain fun. I've been on the nature walk/zip line twice, and each time the guides have proven both knowledgeble and helpful. The jungle scenery is amazing, and the story of Hacienda Baru and how they have reclaimed the area, and the research, and sanctuary... More

After getting fitted with our gear we hiked through the secondary and primary forests, learning about the history of the preserve and all of the creatures and plants who live there. We spotted sloths, white-face and capuchin monkeys, toucans, and lizards and birds of all kinds. We did eight zip lines with a guide named Olman who was funny and... More
